No they’re actually very roomy for a spike. So much so that I would recommend going down half a size if your used to Nike.

For stride and gait development and for general track ‘training’ to improve speed and strength, would you go with these or the brooks ld? Think what I’m trying to ask is what gives a feel of more natural running.. rather than better for racing. Assuming track session would be say 20x400s as a typical volume

Can you make a video ranking all the spikes you tested? Id like to see what you thought about these spikes compared to the dragonflies, air zoom victories, on 10k, brooks ld and md, and any other spikes you like.

you've got to try both Puma offerings. the long distance spikes are the smoothest spike I've ever put on my feet. while not sacrificing speed and responsiveness. the MD spike is literally a better version of the Nike victory. using the stiffer nitro foam the whole way makes it not feel so overly squishy like zoomx and the air pockets. while the carbon fiber plate is one of the stiffest on the market, making insanely fast workouts effortless.

@@SupwellTrack Yeah, it's a real bummer, I see people using Vaporflys for track meets still and no one enforces it (NCAA might start though?) I checked the shoe compliance list and the 10,000s aren't <20mm either so curious to see what new prototypes the elites will use for indoors. Really excited for your upcoming spikes video btw, haven't seen any good comparisons between all the new spikes. Nice channel you got going on over here.

what's your opinion on dragonfly vs dragonfly xc if you've tried both?

Dragonfly XC is a little heavier, has a bit more stability on the sides and has the different bottom. If you’re running a ton of rocky courses they could be a good option but otherwise I’d go with the og.

I think the new ambitions will probably feel a bit more aggressive with more foam under the forefoot but not completely sure since I don't have them yet

I am not sure you have tested all of these but for 1500/3000 with occasional 800 would you recommend on10,000m, on citius, on amplitus or victory 2 (I currently race dragonfly 2 but I assume on 10,000 would be best price to performance now maybe?)

I haven't gotten to try the amplius or victory 2, but the citius and 10000m are both amazing. Price to performance the 10000m will probably be the best but I really love the citius and will be racing in that this year for 800, 1500 and probably 3k. They're all good options but just depends on what your looking for in a spike.

what's the difference between the citius and the amplifius spike?

Citius has a bit less of a toe spring and has a built more foam. Going to feel much more aggressive than the amplius although the amplius is lighter.

Do you guys run in under armor shoes and spikes? I pretty much run 90% of my miles in the Under armor infinite pro breeze and love them. would highly recommended them and Heard the shakedown Spike is amazing as well.

As an under armor sponsored school yes. I had the original velociti elite and it was extremely underwhelming. I think we’ll get a bunch of the new stuff next year so very excited to see what under armor has been working on.

I’m debating between getting the amplius and 10000. By the pictures online it seems like the 10000 has a more classic spike look. And it seems like the amplius(and citius) have a taller/bigger frame compared to a typical spike(like a dragonfly). What r your thoughts on the look of the amplius/citius and which would u prefer? (I also love that the new ones come with a bag and spike box😂 but they r $20 more)

Just getting back into running but stay tuned for the citius review. I don’t have the amplius yet, but I’ll make sure to touch on this. In the mean time the amplius seems to be cushier and bigger than the 10000m.

Got a pair of the Amplius and it is very good! More agressive rocker compared to the dragonfly but more foam as well. If your Achilles can handle them your feet will also be very happy, to put it that way

Would you recommend these, the Brooks Hyperion Ld or the Dragonfly for someone that runs the 800 and mile, I'm more of a kicker and I ran in the dragonfly my last season but I had an Achilles injury. What would recommend? I'm really interested in the brooks tbh

The Brooks Hyperion LD are going to be the most minimalist feeling spikes on the market right now in my opinion (Similar to dragonfly 1 but def better with more pop). They won't have quite as much bounce as the Dragonfly 2 though. If you want more cushion and bounce go with the Dragonfly 2 but if you like a more lightweight feel check out the Hyperion LD. If ur not a cross guy though I'd wait to get them till track cause it looks like a some more options could drop soon.

Great video, I feel you on the xt grind currently trying to get rid of nagging distal hamstring tendinitis. Haven’t been able to do a week without pain in 7 months. Any tips for xt, currently I used doubles on my spin bike at home, and eleptical and stair master at the gym. Also would love to hear your opinions on takumi sen 8/9/10 because I’m thinking of picking them up for this years xc, as the early season I race twice a week and on a half concrete course(avanti tyo for states and late season).

Sorry to hear that but over the summer with xt volume is key (10 minutes of xt = 1 mile of running). If you have a heart rate monitor try to keep it similar to running while you're doing it. For the takumi sen I haven't had any experience but I'd prob go with 9 (only changed the upper vs 8). They tamed it down on the 10 for some reason. @@MrEirik3000 So main differences I can tell so far is that the foam feels a lot softer underfoot. Amplius seems to be lighter and more like the 10000m. Citius has more foam but both have plates that are very rigid. The toe box is also much bigger so I’d recommend going down half a size

I’d go dragonfly 1 or cloud 10k but on’s about to drop some new spikes too👀 I’d steer clear of the on xc spikes unless you don’t want a plated feel though

You got to try the dragonfly 2, it’s just feels like if the dragonfly met the flyx, it has the perfect amount of foam and the plate is a bit more stiff than the original, it’s just kinda a flyx without all the stack

Is the 4-spike nature of the Dragonfly 2's and Air Zoom Victory 2's a dealbreaker for xc? Also do your spike opinions change at all for the high school 5k distance? Appreciate the spike reviews

For me it's not necessarily a dealbreaker for xc but I feel like there are better options out there. I'll be wearing the Cielo FlyX and Cloudspike 10000m next year if that gives you any perspective. I also ran xc in high school so everything I say applies to high school as well! Oh for sure I would recommend the LD’s over any normal trainer. However the on Cloudspike 10000 is on sale for like $80 right now so I’d look at those as well

I'm more of a middle distance runner but I usually try to get new pair of spikes for each season. I'll then use my old ones for practice and training so I can keep one pair fresh for racing.

Hello, appreciate the super super rare spikes reviews. I use the TYO rn run the 1600, 800, and the 3200. Might try to get a more aggressive spike for the mile 3200. Obviously spikes hurt ur calves but out of all of them which would you recommend that less impact my calves. Thanks appreciate the content, would love to see a review on the new victory’s too.

To me the only Cloudspike 1500 feels pretty easy on my calf’s but I don’t think it’s gonna necessarily give you back as much as even the tyo. You should take a look at the brooks Hyperion LD and I have a review up on the channel for it as well! Also could look at the ASICS LD or the Puma Long distance. Hoping to get those in the channel at some point for reviews.
