That scandal came out way after this movie was made. He had to do public speaking engagements as part of his probation conditions. And of all places local LA High Schools. He spoke at my High School assembly back in 91' ish. Culver City HS

I don't see it as cerebral as this vid intro makes it. To me it was more train wrecky but I read the book and the movie did adequately bring to life those pages. But my gosh it was defiantly overacted. I think of Mario Cantone's imitation of Dillon and he's totally right. Of course Swayze was perfect, my hometown Rob Lowe very good job. Everyone else turned the amp up to 8 or 9 and the guitar blarrrred.
