To me it's pretty easy, I like editing in Capture One, Lightroom gets the job done for 99% of uses. But to me Capture One just feels nice to edit with. And that's it, I'm happy to pay for a service I enjoy using

I have an AD200 and a couple of Godox on-camera flashes, and a remote for these. But I do still find myself wanting continuous light, even if it’s less powerful. I have the smaller Zhiyun Molus G60 and use it for shooting macro. Continuous light, with no flash recycle time, is good for focus stacking. Especially if I’m out and shoot handheld. Of course, this is not professional work. But it fits my needs. PS: there is a Bowens mount adapter for these small Zhiyun lights. It has its own attachment for your lightsaber, so the weight of your modifiers doesn’t hang on that small plastic mini mount!
@Mc999119 сағат бұрын
To add onto the strobe vs continuous brightness around 5:30, the ad200 is 200Ws, not 200W. At full power the flash duratioj is reported as ~1/220 seconds, which means its power during the time it's on is ~200*220 = 44,000W. Thats a lot of power, just not for very long. The lamp by contrast, at 60W, will require a 733 second exposure to get the same brightness. If you are exposing both for 1/100 seconds, the lamp will have 0.6Ws of energy, and the flash will output 200Ws
@sergiopstudio9 сағат бұрын
Thanks for sharing! By that logic, shouldn’t the math be 200 * 1/220 = 0.9w? No way there’s 40kW coming out of this thing 😂
@Mc999119 сағат бұрын
@sergiopstudio (200)W•s × (1/220)s would give you a unit of W•s•s,which as far as I know isnt a meaningful unit. Power (W) is in this case a measurement of "what rate am I outputting light at", whereas W•s is "how much light is being output". The power can be absurdly high, but it stays on for a very brief period of time

Being a professor is a great journey. If I can give you a pice of advice, you will never be prepared for everything and anything students might ask about. Accepting that you don't know the answer and telling them you don't know but you'll look into it is not only very humble but also liberating. Once I realized I didn't need to know every single thing about everything made me enjoy teaching so much more. Good luck with your lectures!!

Great video! I really enjoy your channel! Congrats on getting into teaching! I teach 4 summer school classes to 6-8th graders about photography and storytelling. I learn so much from them as well! They have such an interesting perspective. I feel like as we get older we limit ourselves into boxes and are less willing to try things. Students are incredibly creative and have taught me to always keep attempting to take those boxes down.

My first thought was thinking of every legendary street photographer that first came to mind ... This summer I was taking a short drive with a photographer friend I hadn't seen in a while. She's been pretty successful it seems in commercial world, at least from where I'm standing, and we spent the whole trip talking about our ADHD diagnosis's. I don't think it's a prerequisite by any means, but I think it's fun to think that some neurodivergence would drive someone to be a wallflower and observe and take pictures, or be bold and get the shot, or spot something out of the corner of their eye, or hone in on a scene developing in a crowd, onstage, in the field, or from a model etc. And don't get me started on editing, why it has to feel just right. It's a big long fraught conversation about "normals" and "people in the arts" and taste and those without taste and so on. But its interesting that the proliferation of "good cameras" of "high quality" images and how to share them doesn't mean more photography ( at least relative to the amount of phones with capable cameras). Like if everyone in the 70's that got a landline was also given a k1000 and a roll of film a month forever and every year they were upgraded and there was a ATT/ Bell Photo Gallery in every major city would it have meant more photographers or just more pictures? I guess my point is that access to the tool doesn't mean you automatically get more practitioners. You gotta have some weirdos that want to mess around and dedicate a lot of time and identity to something that just seems kind of neat to most people.
