So so SO great to have you Alan. Thank you so much 😀👍 This one I had just forgotten about. Not heard for years and years. Not even Angelina`s cover. So thank you for being the great reminder you are to so many of us. 👣You`r right, her rehearsel was rather "low minded", if that`s even a way to say it. It IS great in her voice - of course - but as always - when performing, and even in front of an audience - she`s simply wonderful and amazing. She clearly could very well pick up on this one again, and I hope she will. As I also have great hope for that she will on so many other songs she has done in her "earlier" years. Like for instance "Summertime", "I`m a Fool To Want You", "Every time We Say Goodbye" and many more. I sure did highly enjoy her recent TikTok version of "I Will Survive", and I hope it might be high on her list to be performed again soon. Her amazing new version of "I`d Rather Go Blind" almost took my breath away for a few minutes. I love that one (as well). Why not some more Etta James pick ups, like "At Last" and "Something`s Got a Hold On Me". There are so so many. I love her previous performances, and no doubt I will Love her new versions even more, as they arrive to us all. 🤗

Great episode, Alan! Absolutely love Hugh Laurie and House! I had heard him playing before, he's good! And well, Joe Cocker is a legend, so unique, so powerful! "Leave your hat on" is one of my favourites ☺ This period of Angelina's journey was just epic! The band was awesome, some of them were at her last concerts in Norway. What to say about Angelina's version of this iconic song? She can sing anything at all and it would be great and it's become more and more apparent that she thrives on stage feeding off the audience reactions! Love her to pieces 🥰

What a great explanation & presentation of this song! I remember Ray’s radio version very well. The man could really bring out the soul of a song. Angelina continues to break every musical mold people try to put her in. Her IQ must be off the charts as far as music theory!

Great compilation, once again, Alan. Angelina has an incredible instinct for runs. I'd love to hear her full concert version. Have always loved Ray, but he has few runs and I find them flat in this song. Joe's rendition is inspiring and gritty. Hugh's version is too white and lacks imagination. Hoping to hear Angelina live in Canada. I'll keep dreaming.

Oh, I almost forgot, Mia Mia did such a nice performance, didn't she? In regards to looking 'down the road', there will be a time (and I hope I'll still be around) when Angelina sings 'Gospel' or something very close to it with the purpose of singing directly to us about how important it is for us (all of us in the world) to unite with love in our hearts and make governments in the world take notice and recognize in spite of so many cultural and environmental differences the connection we all with each other will be a process which will make the world a better place to live for everyone.

I always love your reactions and insight! I can’t help but wonder why they ( Toby and Angelina?) changed the lyrics in the live (first) version, which is different in all the other versions? I’m referring to the order in which she sings “see what you want to see, you’re never going to know me “ which rhymes. In all the subsequent versions she sings “ hear what you want to hear, you’re never going to know me “ which doesn’t rhyme? I guess it doesn’t really matter, it’s her greatest song to date!!!😎

I have come across several covers of Millions Miles and Love Don’t Let Me Go online. There was a young girl from UAE performing Million Miles in a talent contest. I didn’t realize that Bad Valentine already has some covers. Hopefully soon this interest in the song is reflected in the charts, particularly in the U.S. Love Don’t Let Me Go still seems to be doing fairly well internationally but in the US it only plays a couple times a week on an online jazz station. The US market will be tough to crack.
