in all realness we’ll probably trade back. i want to trade pitts but i know terry doesn’t won’t do it unless it’s atleast a 3rd. we need picks and this draft is deep defensively which would help fix the defense and the cap
@inglewoodcustom66875 күн бұрын
would you really rather have a 3rd and not have one more chance to see if Pitts can get there. What are we getting with a 3rd. Look at the history

For sure. The Edge class is so deep you for sure will find quality in round two. More realistically though I think we trade back a few spots, get more capital then draft best edge available.

Realistically Will Johnson might be our best pick up if he falls short in the draft I know we need an edge rusher but I’m thinking we could easily pick up a decent edge in the second round.

The big difference between the Ryan and Cousins situation is only Ryan "haters" thought Ryan was holding the Falcons back. Almost everyone viewed Cousins as a major problem for the Falcons. I would say even Russell Wilson was viewed to be better than where Kirk was viewed a the end.

How realistic is it that a Kyle pitts or cousins trade would be done by the draft? If we have the extra draft capital going in would we see tf just go with best talent on the board at 15?
@TheFalcoholicLive10 күн бұрын
If the team wants to trade Pitts, it'll happen before the draft. They'll want to free up the cap space and get draft assets in 2025. Kirk Cousins is less certain. It all depends on his market, willingness to accept a trade, etc. Could happen in March, or could go into training camp.

How much money can we pay of Kirk’s contract? Also how much can we pay towards the cap? If we paid more could we get more in picks? I’ve suggested paying as much as possible in a trade to acquire a 6th in this and next years draft for Kirk, the money; one of this years 7th rounders?
@TheFalcoholicLive12 күн бұрын
Falcons can't really afford to pay much of Kirk's contract. I think they'd be willing to eat up to $2.5M (which is their break-even number) to facilitate a trade but that's probably it.

Anybody seen that clip when Judon sarcastically thanked Lake for him dropping back in coverage and coaching staff and players were laughing? I could bet my last dollar the players didn’t trust him at all..knew he was in over his head

Seems like all the loser coaches from the superbowl collapse are reuniting with the Falcons organization. The Falcons have a buddy system and that’s bad for business. Hope Ulbrich pans out

What does this say for our scheme tho will we still be an odd front? We really don’t seem to have the players for either scheme. That’s the worst part about being optimistic. It really kills any hopes.
@TheFalcoholicLive12 күн бұрын
I'm guessing they'll stick with roughly the same scheme given all the picks they just used on the defensive line. Certainly will be tweaks here and there, but mostly the team needs talent and development.

I'm thinking they keep Pitts. While being disappointing so far he is still only 24 and younger than Penix. ( by 5 months)They might forge rapport and truly help #8 reach his potential

People are forgetting that Pitts only "good" season was with Matt Ryan, who happens to be a tight end's best friend.
@Nicho_Ldn12 күн бұрын
Maybe on a future show you could discuss the possibility of us making at least one big-ish FA signing? Possibly somebody like Ward at CB?
@Nicho_Ldn12 күн бұрын
If you acknowledge that we are short on draft capital and accept that Pitts is one of the few players we can trade to improve that situation, then the decision should already have been made. I wouldn’t set our expectations arbitrarily high, either. A third rounder all by itself would be adequate. Maybe he goes somewhere else and does amazingly well, and maybe he doesn’t. But we ultimately need to progress our offense as a whole. We can’t still be treating him like a project in year five; it’s time to make some grown-up decisions.
@MattkatKilgore12 күн бұрын
Treshon. Let me get this straight. The problem prior to this year was coaching. Now it’s talent yet the old coach had less talent and the results were the same but now we just need more talent. You are just talking. I’ll give you a redo. I’m waiting
@sukitez10009 күн бұрын
Who tf is this guy 😂
@RogerThat90212 күн бұрын
No offense but you guys completely flipped the narrative about Pitts. When he was drafted Kevin, in particular, chastised fans for saying we drafted a TE by saying he wasn't "just" a TE. Now when people are talking about Pitts it's "he's not a number 1 WR like London, he's a TE" Like come on Kevin, you literally argued the complete opposite to justify the pick.
@matthewwarren98012 күн бұрын
Yeah because even though he is a TE we expected him to be used as a receiver which is where his talent is. I think Kevin was saying he’s not a WR1 because fans are expecting that of him when that’s not the position he being put in. His numbers are fine for a TE but not a WR.
@TheFalcoholicLive12 күн бұрын
People are comparing his numbers to a WR1 (Ja'Marr Chase, Drake London) in their efforts to show that he's worthless, a bust, etc. I was simply pointing out that if you treat him as a TE--which is how the Falcons have always used him, not as a WR hybrid like I originally hoped--he's a fringe top-10 TE and absolutely not worthless.
@gregphipps708212 күн бұрын
Its not a coincidence that the jets defense fell off miserabley after Saleh was fired. The defense hasn't been good since the Mike Smith days. I think it’s more of drafting/FAs misses recently.its strange how players gave good yrs until they come here. Then, once they leave, pick right back up. Although, They're r some good young defensive guys out there for ‘25.
@hookedonfunknics247712 күн бұрын
Ulbrich called the defense before Saleh was fired. Theres also other factors that can play into a teams decline after a HC firing. like players checking out lol

brains in the secondary is not adding up. Playing 8 yards off the ball on short yardage and goal line situations, covering screens, blown coverages, etc. Come on now let's not forget. Everyone loves Jerry Gray but along with the rest of the bunch, he hasn't shown me nothing. I'm not saying he's bad I'm just saying lifting him up is missing the boat. The secondary was not good in the second half of the season period. These takes about the secondary being a strength is just wrong.
@vb7251712 күн бұрын
Here to watch the entire show. But first thoughts... I'm not a fan of this hire. I feel like this is just a hire based on familiarity. The falcons are banking on Ulbrich having grown more since his last term with the team. It's the same mentality they took with Rah. I just don't see it working out. I'm thinking this is the beginning of the end for the current regime and staff. We have a great young core. But I don't think Terry Fontenot, Raheem, or Ulbrich are the right guys. I hope I eat my words one day. But I just don't see it right now
