Is there an advantage to having your screws oriented outwards, or is that just your personal preference for whatever reason?

Thank you I also used your idea and cut off 1/3 at the rib on the barrel and shortened it,my local dump always has weber grills so took the grate,dropped it inside,made a 6x6 hole cut thru both barrels to light my now smokeless firepit,thank you.

I just finished one, almost the same as you, i drill the holes on the inside barrel, but the outside barrel i used my plasma cutter to cut slotes in the bottom, plasma cutter saved me a lot of time! But it works great, i filled it with cardboard lite it, burned for about a minute and went out, everything was gone!!!

Nice. Little I can see to improve upon. I'd make the bottom grate a bit more solid. I'd also paint the outside with high temp enamel.( 1,500'F+ ). Otherwise you will rust out to useless left outside in 2-3 years.😊

This is a super cool burn barrel!!! I am a 71 year old woman and I’m going to see if I can get someone to help me build your burn barrel. Very inspiring!

Nice vid. I was considering this concept after making a smokeless fire pit. And I’m really appreciative of the fact I have a welder and a plasma cutter. Makes life a bit easier. Well done!

bro! i've viewed heaps of different types of smokeless fire pits / burn barrels but nothing like yours. complete, detailed and easy to follow guidelines without the need of welding for a dyi handyman using everyday tools and fixings. kudos! kudos! kudos!

Has anyone burned trash in? How was smoke
@_gungrave_680213 күн бұрын
While its a cool idea I feel like it creates more work and solves something that really isn't much of a problem in the first place...the smoke. I like having just a basic 55gal barrel with holes and nothing more. I can put a hand truck underneath it to move it for when I need to dump it. Imo the ability to hold the leftover ashes that can be moved for dumping is a far greater convenience than having a smokeless burn barrel.

Wow, best video like this I've seen, great explanation. I always wondered exactly how these smokeless burners work. The design "reintroduces super heated oxygen to the smoke" at the top of the flame to ignite the smoke ! Thank you for that extremely simple but informative comment !!

That is a grest idea but needs a grate on bottom to pertect the air fins from getting destroyed and also needs a way to catch debris..
@davidjames10639 күн бұрын
This design has the bottom grate floppy, drop out. Then you'd have to fish it out of the ash pile. Me, I'd attach the grate. Then just lift and shake, and your ash pile remains.😊

I'm here because the way my back yard's set up, when I light my barrel, i smoke out the neighbour. lol. He says it's fine because it repels the mosquitoes, but i also smoke myself out while feeding the fire, so yea...I'm book marking this 😂

I wonder if ya build it out of stainless steel or a older beer kegs ? I have 2 old beer kegs that were given to me for scrap metal and I never could sell em and the scrap yard won’t take em plus I picked one up that someone had cut it open to make a bbq grill out of it .

Mosquitos are NOT attracted to Uv light, they are attracted to carbon dioxide (our breath and sweat) and the red end of the light spectrum So do not get conned into buying any trap which has Uv light as part of the attractent said to catch mosquitos, It will however catch moths and some flies.

Thank you very much, you told me what I needed to know, that the Amazon Mtiolhig Cordless LED Work Light for Dewalt 18v 20v Battery's 48W 4800Lumens if left on the DeWalt battery even if in the off position won't destroy any of my DeWalt 20-volt batteries! I still wont leave them on when not in use but nice to know anyways!

Sir , thank you very much for your video. Before I spot it on YT. I was thinking to make one out of SS washer drum , but on the side there is to many holes Then I looked on old waterheater tank, which have double wall already But seeing your video, I'm going to copy your idea. I'm just thinking for how long the metal material is gonna last . Beside that I've seen someone's suggestion, that states, that the taller the barrel is the better, because whatever sticks above secondary line of holes is not gonna burn smokeless because of obvious reason. So whatever we burning it suppose to fit below the top of the barrel. God bless you Sir , and your family. The children are so sweet.
