It was my old turbo set up from my 1zz turbo that I transferred over to get up and running. Now running a fully forged low comp 2zz with a Holset HX32.

Thanks man. It's been off the road whilst I sorted a stripped driveshaft. Got some TRD side skirts to go on ready for the summer, didn't get chance to test the splitter on track.

Nice one, I think these cars look much better with side skirts. Need to get some for mine too but gonna go for the TRC ones. Only had mine for a few months though, so it's a work in progress.

Yes buddy, Rogue Motorsport adapter plate, e153 driveshafts and Celica St165 out CV joints.

Not had a proper investigation yet, but it's either splines or CV. Driveshaft is spinning when in drive, but doesn't sound loud enough to be CV.

Adaptor plate made by Rogue MotorSport, but not available anymore.

@@mr2roadsterturbo I think MWR (Monkey Wrench Racing) still manufactures the adaptor plate for this swap.

@@CADeathstar yeah correct buddy, MWR still do the full swap kit.

Shifting is iffy, still playing around with the adaptor bracket. But have contacted MWR about them doing a bracket from their kit as a one off.

@@mr2roadsterturbo I wonder if a 5 speed mr2 shifter and linkage sets would put the limits in a more correct placement.?

@@threepotMR2 I've used th 5 speed selector shaft, apparently the cable and linkage are th same. I'm only mm's away from getting it sorted properly. But thought the MWR bracket was the easy way out. Lol

Old set up was more responsive due to smaller turbo, but when this thing comes on song there's no comparison. It's bonkers.

It was only running low boost 12psi here on an unopened engine. Circa 280-300. It's now built and running 26 psi on a bigger turbo, circa 400hp.

@@mr2roadsterturbo That laser cut steel adapter plate for your e153 gearbox looks mint. I am building a second 2ar-fxe conversion using a e351 gearbox that has the same type of shifter arm setup. I'm looking at making some sort of adapter brackets to fit the MR2 shift pivots to the ex5x case design.

@@threepotMR2 I'm getting the cad guys at work to draw up the adaptor if you fancy a copy?

@@threepotMR2 have a look at the install instructions on the MWR adapter kit online, brackets look easy to make up.

@@mr2roadsterturbo I don't need the adapter plate because e351 directly bolts to the 2ar-fxe, but those drawings in the instructions you've just pointed me to very handy to see how they have made the MR2 linkages fit the Ex5x casing :) So if you ever get bored of the 1.8 2zz... there is a 2.5 2arfxe awaiting you!

On this old set up I'd say around 280-300, never got it to a Dyno though. Ran out for turbo efficiency.

Thanks man, I've got a full build thread on mr2roc.org For turbo conversions in the UK I'd look into doing it yourself and finding someone to tune it. Turbo Kits .com is a good place to start or monkey wrench racing for a kit.

2zz engines are quite happy upto around 300bhp with standard internals.

@@lordnggamermtpoppy3829 torque kills gearboxes not bhp, careful tuning of the VVt to limit torque at mid range and it's fine. (On the limit but fine;)) 250-270lb fts seems to be the supposed limit.

I have a 2zz waiting to be swapped into my mr2 so I’m learning all I can and really interested in your previous 1zz turbo now ….this monster. Have you upgraded the drive shaft or clutch?

@@jamesbushell9363 clutch is an ACT 6 puck heavy duty, rated to 450ftlb iirc. No other trans upgrades, but I do have lotus Evora gearbox that I'm playing with

Few little bits to do but hopefully I should be out mapping tomorrow.

I built my own, based around a cast manifold (I do have the turbo kits.com one to use too). TD04 15t turbo, Emu black, ID1050x injectors, charge cooler, started out on an Apexi PFC, now on Emu black, walbro fuel pump.

ECU master has much better safety features and is a modern day ECU. Launch control, anti lag, switchable fuel and ignition tables, boost control, tons of extra features.

Thanks for asking, plan is to try and keep torque low for the time being. But I do have a lotus Evora gearbox, which I'm in the middle of making a bell housing adapter for. Turbo wise I have a Holset HX32 to go on which should be good for around 450-500.

Map sensor has its own port, fpr does not run a reference I've just used it to bump the standard pressure up to 55psi. The other ports are either looped (didn't have enough bungs) or is for the boost gauge or brake booster. 👍
