Hello Roland, You make a lot of awesome KZbin videos. Hope all is well, I have a crazy story. I have been an electrical engineer working in medical device industry. I want to start my own business as I have been working in this area and have lots of ideas that want to bring to life. I have been eyeing this company that does manufacture medical devices but it’s really hard to talk to the owner. The previous owner was an old Japanese man living in Japan and running the business from Japan. So I tried contacting him in any way mean, but emailing, sending emails through their website calling the website contact number and nothing worked. Until I did some more digging through the secretary state website and found the trustee of the company, she was also Japanese and told me that the previous owner passed away and that the owners brother would be running the business again from Japan. I asked her to contact me to the owner but she is not giving me any contacts and states that I would send your massage directly to him. I literally went to there office and asked if I could speak to anyone but after a day someone did contact me through the contacts that I left them and asked me to talk to the trustee of the company as she is not in charge of the company. The trustee stated to me that she is no longer in charge after July first since the new owner of the company is taking over. I cannot get in contact with the owner of the company directly and the employees of this company are refusing to connect me to the owner. Should I pursue this company or not. It seems to me that they are hiding something or afraid of something. After talking to the employees of the company the time that I was onsite they told me that he is coming onsite this month but I don’t have a date. I’m really losing hope. I tried everything and beyond all options. What’s your recommendation? How would you approach this? Thank you.

Please turn the music off. It not only adds zero value, it actually detracts as it makes it hard to focus and listen (at least for me). I, otherwise, love your content and approaches.

Please get rid of the music. Your content is pure gold and the music detracts IMHO.

Seems the best route is to have a valuation done to determine market value by a 3rd party, then contact companies where it would be a bolt-on product. I will be selling my company that makes plastic products out of sheet plastic, so approaching plastic distributor suppliers with a CNC router is the next step.

I disagree about the financial statements. If you don't know this figures, and verify them some how, how can you know profitability....

How did he acquire these current businesses? Just asking

Mate there is something called depreciation. however as an accountant that works or shifted into private equity I agree that only accounting is not a valid way to calculate firms value but it’s an important thing you gotta look at since it shows what the company really has but not everything.
