You can actually convert solar energy into radio energy, then radio energy back in the power. So let’s build those fucking joiner raised by the sun because we can get that crap back to earth.

You do not need 2in of steel to keep 1 bar of pressure in indeed. Keeping radiation out is another story, and a high Z material would really help.

After the video I got an ad for a Palamatic Process lump breaker. The whole ad had the same rhythm as the finest techno babble. Breaking up lumps by hitting them repeatedly with food safe stainless steel rods until they break into pieces small enough to fit between the rods is a very basic concept. The script writer got to describe the pal-a-matic process and applications many many times in a short commercial without using the same terminology twice. This is not an endorsement of the product, as I have never broken up lumps on an industrial scale.

You would think a simple control panel would be electric? How much power do you need to run a remote control pad?

Im just glad the plasma on its own wasn't energetic enough to incite fusion. Imagine what would happen if one of those tubes burst

I like how actual warships are powered by long-range blenders, use echolocation that can liquefy people, can see things by barbecuing seagulls... and the inspiration that Star Trek took from this is "The deflector dish is magic and the console explodes." I love Star Trek.

Battleship Texas is cool, Battleship Iowa in California though a friend of mine served on her during his Naval career and he helped with the restoration and setting it up into a floating museum in California. Him and his wife even promoted it on their local radio show he used to co-host with her "Kate and some old guy" he called it lol

They went back to caprica to rescue people survivors... So people survived on caprica their must be surviving people on the other 11 colonies so they rescued those on caprica and said screw the rest

The point of only 12, was in reference to the human form or skin job Cylon when baltar asked number six the conversation was on the subject of how many cylons looked human she told him 12, he even referred to the ones that look like toasters and she said those models are still around they have their uses

One thing I found interesting about the Battlestar Galactica reimagined series is it there are quite a few of the recurring characters and cast on that show there were also on the show Jeremiah either as once in awhile characters or characters who just appeared kind of interesting two shows about post apocalyptic Survival Life with the same actors

The best way to describe a Cylon humanoid number 6 model is that the silence needed a model that could work perfectly for infiltration exploitation and seduction so they took a blow up doll and made it Cylon prove me wrong

Sacred crown I am a little bit disappointed in you I really thought that you could have had a little bit more creativity and gone with an AC DC reference at the start I mean come on ACDC has the song that fits perfectly for a video about a great big ball all on that being said like all videos I thoroughly enjoyed this one

I'll note that a lot of modern (AESA) radars do generate their radio waves directly on the antenna these days. Mainly because instead of using one big RF signal generator they use an array of hundreds or thousands of tiny radio modules. The waveguide metaphor is pretty apt though.

This is an old video I know, but all of the cost cutting makes sense for a private security company. When I worked for Loomis Armored (the cash-in-transit company) they cut the dedicated guard and made it so trucks had crews of two instead of three (so, the cash-carrier was responsible for his own safety). They were trying to cut crews down to one- just one guy to drive, park, handle cash, etc. Also, the armor was barely IIA rated- a sharp stick would probably have poked through the sides. There were no run-flats and the engines were usually over a half-million miles (yes, old International diesels). Also, the interior control switches we had were unlabeled. You just had to remember what switch popped the back door and which popped the side doors.
