I can't wait to see what the community comes up with. I just like creating small alleyways and cozy stuff, but this is honestly impressive.

This game is an example of such a massive feature creep, that the feature itself becomes a game on its own.

0:11 Hey that's me! Appreciate the shoutout <3 Build also looks amazing! Will note that I go into flying buttresses in detail only in the follow-up to the 2 hour behemoth! i.e. the "10 More Tips" one :D In the 2 hour one I just link to a quick demonstration in the description. Lovely video, glad to see that my plan of spreading building knowledge is working!

Now this really looks like it could be in Planet Coaster 2. Common Frontier, give us something like this
@Silvarret7 сағат бұрын
IF Planet Coaster 2 ever happens (I have no idea, I mean it), I doubt the engine would handle this level of procedural generation. But who knows!
@YusufKayeht7 сағат бұрын
@@Silvarret They mentioned it some years ago as Project "Odin" or something like that. So they have that on the drawingboard. I think it was shortly before the release of Planet Zoo. It probably takes more years to come and I also doubt that they will implement building generation. But it would be really cool to have at least a simple variant of this as a building mode.

@@YusufKayeht oh for sure, Rudi has been DM'ing me FOR YEARS with all his predictions on when and why PlanCo 2 is coming out. But I don't have the mental energy to hope for it 😂

Another awesome build! Can't wait to see to what limits you'll push the full release! btw is there a way to copy/paste elements around, for convenience?
@Silvarret7 сағат бұрын
Unfortunately, there's no copy/paste function as of now, but it's a point of feedback that I've seen more players have, so who knows.

You can still record timelapses. With holding z / x (undo/redo). But be aware if you stop inbetween and just click. It counts as a action and you might loose all your progress (done it way to often D: ) so keep undoing and redoing completely before doing anything. But timelapse will come back for the full game once Tom has finished with the rewrite of the code.

9:04 "What if we had this in [game X]" I'm actually hoping that this engine will not be bought up by some big game company.
@supermark707510 сағат бұрын
i don't that anyone was saying that.
@Silvarret7 сағат бұрын
I'm definitely not worried about that, just hope it inspires other developers!
@Squant5 сағат бұрын
Pretty sure this game was made with Bevy, which is already free and open source. It's not like this kind of procedural building is new either, if somebody wants to use it for another type of game they totally can. There's no danger of anything being bought out.
@user-ht1eu8ff3g11 сағат бұрын
You pushed it to the limit of this game that not even fully released yet.
@private117710 сағат бұрын
Limit? Far from it XD he's just using some basic building tech. You can do a lot more with the walls and platforms. Like wall details, stairs and roof shapes.
@Silvarret7 сағат бұрын
@@private1177 agreed! The community for this game (and the devs, who are always communicating with the players! Really cool to see) are the real heroes. I just came up with my own spin on flying buttresses based on what I've seen others do and figured it's worth showing off on KZbin just how versatile this demo gets already!

I love this series so much, it's such an enjoyable thing for an architecture nerd to watch and enjoy. I would suggest going for something like Venetian or Byzantine architecture as a transitory style between European and Middle Eastern styles if there is going to be an extension, or even a move to Ethiopian architecture (e.g the Royal City of Gonder) as a fun change of expected building styles.
@Silvarret2 күн бұрын
My secret plan is to transition from Egyptian to Moroccan to Moorish - Spanish and so into the northern mediterranean :) but for sure Venetian architecture has lots of arabic influences too!
