love how all those games turn from being used as intended (planet zoo -> zoo sim, coaster/theme park sim) into basically archictecture simulators.

I recently went to the Netherlands for the first time and I also fell in love with this architecture ! It is still as beautiful. We really find the spirit of a beguinage ! Well done 😊

I cannot imagine I could like a game where nothing is to be learned, whether on animals or architecture or history or whatever :D Of course there need to be the people who use games and videos to not only entertain but also share knowledge. Thank you,found your channel recently!

Incredible thumbnail and a good episode; my favorite update so far. Also, around 16:15 the word you are looking for is "steeple".

Absolutely loving this series so far! Both pretty to see this incredible build come to life and the process you use, but your commentary is interesting as well! Gives me a dose of nostalgia as well as a Dutch person living abroad.

Amazing work, it looks very Dutch indeed! This style is also present in Belgium (which is obvious as it's a neighbouring country). It reminds me of the Schaarbeek town hall and some other buildings in Brussels, but also Kortrijk and Tournai.

Having lived in Brussels for 2 years, I have to say, the Schaarbeek city hall is amazing.

Watching these Dutch City videos just kept reminding me of your old RCT3 series where you built similar Dutch buildings. I just went back to take a look at some of the videos and man, I can't believe it's been 9 years already.
@Silvarret3 ай бұрын
9 years!!?? 😢 ouch (but also, I love that you remember them! The CS pieces I made for that are still some of my favorite RCT3 memories)

20:13 I think this style of gardening is very common all over europe in residential areas and such, where a groundskeeper often has to look after several large areas. But I think when people talk about the dutch more naturalistic or "chaotic" gardening styles what they're really talking about is the style of Piet Oudolf's gardens. Can very much recommend giving it a search cause it really is magical in a very different way than the more manicured story book-like english landscaping styles.

It's probably my modern interpretation of what currently many buildings like these in the historic centres are used for, but will you make implied shops and services as well? Not full-blown restaurants and cafés, but a tailor or a pub would give a lot of lived personality to the city. It's not just people living there, they also do stuff and spend money on things! Great progress on this episode nonetheless! Green areas are just as important to show off

Looks amazing. I know Planet Zoo in this case is just a vehicle to build an old style Dutch city, but you *could* still make it Planet Zoo-functional if you wanted by adding a ‘hertenkamp’ (a deer park) somewhere. Those are typical in older towns. But, great stuff nonetheless. 👍🏻
@Silvarret3 ай бұрын
Keeping this into consideration for sure! My secret plan is to do a "kinderboerderij" somewhere :)

Very nice as always. I like that you also added variety in houses from diffrent time periods. Would you be interested in also adding something that is more in style with early 20th century dutch architecture like the delfste or amsterdamse school?
@Silvarret3 ай бұрын
I love the Delftse and Amsterdamse School, but to be honest, I doubt I could do them justice in this game :')

discovered your channel yesterday and I'm loving this serie! will you add some art deco and/or art nouveau style buildings? groeten uit Nijmegen!
@Silvarret3 ай бұрын
Thank you! As much as I love those styles, I have no idea how to pull them off in Planet Zoo 😅
@janneslenkens53553 ай бұрын
@Silvarret Art Nouveau might be maybe a style like Amsterdamse School might he possible? I have never played planet zoo and would definitely not be able to pull of the stuff you make.

You should add some 30s architecture (and maybe even some ugly grey box 70s, 80s, 90s architecture for realism)
@icyflame7164 ай бұрын
I think the 70’s and later stuff would be more on the outside. He’ll probably get to it eventually
