I like the area along the South Shore, but some places and be difficult to leave and return to with the hills, but it's also good for securitty, too. Convenience is nice where you live close and convenient, too, because going and coming can be difficult during the busy times when the highways are crowded esp. during the high season.

Please do not come, you hate Mexican and now you want to go live in their country, The Mexican government is going to change the laws for all foreigners that want to live in Mexico. Most of the American that arrived to Mexico and still working and their jobs allow them to work from home. so They go to Mexico do not pay taxes in Mexico and they live like kings. But all that is coming to an end. Other type of Americans buy houses close to the beach, but they do not understand something they think that the beach comes with the house and in Mexico is illegal to claim a piece of beach. In Mexico the beaches are own by the Mexican. The new law is not going to make easy for people that want to retire and want to buy a house. prices are going to cost three time more for American vs Mexicans. and they have to pay taxes.

CUIDADO.

Do not retire in Mexico unless you are going to respect the country, the people and everything related to the culture. It is very annoying when Americas live in Mexico and treat the Mexicans like garbage! Another is to Mexicans are tired of foreigners making difficult for the locals: more expensive, and foreigners are not respectful, they think they are going to conquer, don't do that. Be respectful, just the way you would like any immigrant to behave in your country of origin. If you are going to be arrogant, don't move, stay where you belong, but not in Mexico, a land of opportunities, but also where the locals are proud of their country and culture.

Hi Larissa. We also moved to Mexico in 2021 with our 3 dogs. We have lived in Acapulco, San Miguel de Allende and are now in Puebla. You mentioned Puebla was your favourite place - I would have thought you would have chosen Mexico City? We love the weather here (aside from the volcanic ash from the active volcano at times!) but we do miss the beach - but NOT the constant heat. Will be interested to know where you have ended up as you said Puerto Vallarta was too hot for you?

Puebla is a gem, so much to do and very nice weather, I definitely come back to spend more time and explore more of Puebla. But as much as I love Puebla and Mexico City my heart is with Puerto Vallarta, I love ocean, it’s very important for me to be close to the water. So I am back to Nuevo for winter time :))) thanks for sharing your experience in Mexico!

I love your content and your energy and I do live in Vancouver as well. I do agree with you that 1BR rent being $1800 in a suburb such as Coquitlam, New West or Surrey can, however, be $6500 for 1BR in dt???? That's absolutely not the case. You can get a furnished 1BR in Shangri la which is a 5-star hotel for $3800. $6500 most likely is for a brand new 2-3 br spacious home. For reference, I am looking at a home 3br in Nuevo Nayarit with an ocean view as well and the asking rent in high season is about $6000 CAD!! I can name a highrise in PV with amazing views and the rent is $8000 - $10,000 last time I checked in 2022 I was told it's fully booked for the next 2 years! lol Sure you can find a really banged-up home in PV for much cheaper than Vancouver if you do a 12-month lease however, if you are looking for newish apartments in neighborhoods with similar infrastructure as Vancouver such as Nuevo Nayarit or Marina Vallarta where everything is nice and clean, you are practically looking at the same prices if not more expensive. Also dining out, is about 20% cheaper only. food delivery is about the same price as in Vancouver. Grocery is cheaper but if you buy your home country's goods you pay more and in the end, your groceries would be only slightly less. The bottom line, is rents are the same, groceries are the same, comparable phone plans are the same or cheaper in Vancouver, Taxi and public transit are much cheaper in PV, clothing is about the same, and electricity is more expensive in PV.... so all in all people shouldn't consider PV to save money, cause they won't. They should choose it if they like the weather, vibe, food, people, etc. In fact, many people are leaving PV for the very same reason... it's expensive.

Hi. I once commented on one of your first videos about you moving to Mexico and you replied to my comment. I've never been to Mexico but I'm now seriously thinking about going there even just to visit and escape the ugly depressing winter in Vancouver. I just don't know how to go about finding a place to live for a month or two as a start. Any advice on how to look for a place ? When someone first lands there are hotels the only option ? Talking about Vancouver. Well, it sure is NOT the place it used to be even just 4 years ago. The prices are through the roof and they've flooded the country with "immigrants" that it's getting harder for people to find jobs. Even the streets are now narrower and traffic jams are much worse. This place is 100 times worse than it used to be.
