Notice on the run with pressure pulses its bleed off at different pressures everytime you "charge it" in this video. Must have a ball & Spring in there causes that unpredictable boost level. 11psi, 13psi, 10psi, 12psi it cant make up its mind

@MaggersGarage Жыл бұрын
What is this shit tutorial mate. You will not gain any more psi of this setup? The internal wastegate will still open at the same time? this just helps release the pressure if it exceeds the 7psi but you will never get more boost from this setup???

is that the same principle to boost vgt turbo as-well

Hi I got a 14psi spring in my external wastegate I have hooked the compressor line to the boost controller then from there to the bottom port of wastegate then teed it off for boost gauge and I’m only getting 10psi in whatever I do
@HighPerformanceNetwork2 жыл бұрын
Hmm. That’s an interesting one. And your certain it’s a 14psi spring and not 7psi.!? Hmmm. Next step would be to verify if you have a boost leak somewhere in the system. If no leak. Then I would proceed to remove the boost control line on the waste gate (so it’s running on spring pressure) but leave the boost gauge hooked up direct to manifold pressure. If it goes to 14 then could be a faulty boost controller. That would be how I would do it. Let me know if that helps.

on that gate theres 2 top port right so 1 goes with vacuum how abou the other port do i need to block it or leave it as a vent ?
@HighPerformanceNetwork3 жыл бұрын
The other can be left to vent. However if you have a top dollar multi port boost controller say a ams unit then you would connect to that. (4 port controller in other words). Hope this helps :)

1:06 I don't know why I'm saying this after 6 years. But high pressure goes to low pressure, it's not "basic law" the other way around. The catch can works, but for the opposite reason. The high pressure from the engine travels to the low pressure of the intake, through the catch can. Either way, I love seeing people make their own stuff, especially when companies are out their gouging people $200+ for a catch can made of $20 worth of parts.

get rid of the "T" in the line closest to the wastegate actuator. The compressor side of the boost controller is on the bottom, the wastegate side is on the side of the boost controller. Try that with this same test and there will be no wastegate creep like you are seeing here. It will not begin to open till the pressure overcomes the ball and spring in the controller as designed.

Is an external wg not located on the manifold and actually on the piping? Like in this video I have the same set up in my pt. Looking to get/install boost gauge and controller so any information is awesome and much needed thanks again

what if it comes out from the turbo the leak? what do that mean?
@HighPerformanceNetwork4 жыл бұрын
It is possible for the o ring on the compressor housing to be damaged. That would be my guess. Another possibility would be if the compressor has a t fitting for a boost reference, check if the threads are leaking. Hope this helps
