But Tim, there is a punishment, right? Luke 12:48 (KJV) But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few [stripes]. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more. The wicked are punished “according to their deeds.” Satan is made to suffer not only for his own rebellion, but for all the sins which he has caused God's people to commit. In the flames the wicked are at last destroyed, root and branch-Satan the root, his followers the branches. The full penalty of the law has been visited; the demands of justice have been met. Satan's work of ruin is forever ended. Now God's creatures are forever delivered from his temptations. . GrH_c 53.5

Good day fellas. God bless us all. Not really related to the video, but… To the producers and participants of this discussion..can I (or we, if there are others here who want this to happen also) request that you do a discussion with pure Bible verses, even quoting from other sources should be minimized or if possible, eliminated. Sample themes would be the 28 fundamental beliefs and text or verses to back it up. Thank you. And the grace of God showers to us all. Seeking God 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

This is for the guys who did not know what a blue dog democrat was: "A Blue Dog Democrat is a moderate or conservative member of Congress within the Democratic Party who advocates for fiscal responsibility, a strong national defense, and bipartisan consensus. The term "Blue Dog" originated from a group formed in 1995 by Democrats who felt the party had moved too far left, symbolizing a middle-ground approach in American politics. More in the Ideology section of the Blue Dog Coalition Wikipedia article and Blue Dog Coalition from Ballotpedia." That is not that long ago but aside from Senator Joseph Manchin, there are nothing like blue-dog democrats anymore. This proves they were right in 1995 that the party had moved too far to the left. And now they want Kamala Harris for President and as a senator, she was one of the 5 most leftist Senators.

America IS divided tho. Incredibly divided. Biden can say united. Trump can talk about unity. Kamala… I’m not sure what she can say just yet, but we are inarguably divided. And liberals HATE conservatives right now. It’s not at all one-sided. I’m in that morally superior middle ground myself, of course 😉, so I see both sides. This is not going well, no matter who wins.

The sympathy card washed away in the news cycle. Kamala has dominated the spotlight. Everyone is getting more cemented in their views. Trump lost last election because of the young vote. I feel like the same problem is there but worse now. Less old folks, more young folks and Kamala is actually much more favorable to young voters than Biden on account of Biden being a hundred and eighty years old.

Thank you for such a wonderful discussion. I knew it was going to be deeply insightful as soon as the Romanisation of the law was explained. It is the biggest corruption that informs the majority of Christianity and all other religions. God's law does not function like human law. Until the foundation is trusted, that is God is actually love and the Divine law is love, the lens of self protection isn't overcome. It prevents us from love and growth in the liberty of that transformational knowledge. Alicia, you are wonderful, and I can only imagine your journey from pain to joy. Can't wait to read your book.

So glad Jay that you were led to the foundation of truth, God is love. It's not an aspect of His character, it is who He is and how His creation functions. The courage of your authenticity born out of the desire to help others avoid some of the devastating pain, for me, is evidence of the Spirit. May you continue to flourish in the knowledge of His love.

SHE WAS BORN IN PANAMÁ??? No wonder I like her so much since Advent Next hehehe... I'm still not convinced of the idea that homosexuality is ok in God's eyes, BUT, I do know that God's grace is much greater than I can comprehend. I hate it when church members believe they are superior to the LGBTQ+ community and treat them in a clear, ungodly way. The only ppl I saw Jesus "rejecting" were church folks in his day. I love hearing stories of how God is working individually with different members of the LGBTQ+ community. We will get all the answers when He comes =D (at least for me)

I want to commend Scotty and the team at Little Light Studios for their outstanding ministry. They do an excellent job using Scripture to highlight the dangers of consuming media from Hollywood, encouraging us to leave behind worldly pleasures and focus on Christ and the Bible. Their dedication to promoting a Christ-centered life is truly inspiring. However, I was disappointed with the hosts of the "Seeking What They Sought" podcast, who are SDA pastors. It seems they treat the Bible as if it were grey rather than black and white. This approach is dangerous and misrepresents our church's values. The Bible is clear on these matters: "Abstain from all appearance of evil" (1 Thessalonians 5:22), and "have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them" (Ephesians 5:11).God expressly forbids involvement in magic and sorcery: "There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer" (Deuteronomy 18:10). Indulging in things that don't lead us to Christ is dangerous, and if we fail to see this, we are not being led by heavenly powers. "But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned" (1 Corinthians 2:14).We often take for granted the time in which we live. There were moments in the Bible where if a priest had any sin in his life and stepped foot into the sanctuary, he would drop dead (Leviticus 10:1-2; 16:2). Now, we have pastors who are modern-day priests bringing worldly entertainment into the church, presenting it as good and using it as an illustration for the gospel. This is a serious matter, as it dilutes the sanctity of our worship and misleads the congregation. Let's stay committed to biblical principles and support ministries like Little Light Studios that uphold these truths.

This has been an interesting series. I was particularly interested in this wrap up. The surprising thing to me is how tentative the beliefs of the presenters seem to be after the conclusion of all the interactions. I was not raised an Adventist but became one after reading the Bible on my own when I was 17. While I do not believe that SDAs are the sole possessers of truth, the story that they present is both biblical and compelling---even as I recognize that some parts appear more firmly established than others and some people misuse and abuse them and mistepresent God. Still, I agree with Ellen White who said "Most people have no idea how firmly the foundation of our faith is laid."

That would make me really worldly and not Adventist enough. I was less culty than you guys are now. Too bad you don't want to be Christian enough to be a Christian. So you choose to be an open minded person Adventist? Sorry boys cult is cult.

I think it’s interesting that for a guy who claims inclusivity and women empowerment, one of his closest former co-Pastor, Mandy, who is a female Pastor, spoke out about how cold he was with her after she had her kid. And how unsupportive and unloving he was of her wanting to be both a Mom and a Pastor. She claimed that the patriarchy is strong with Pastor Craig. Kind of ironic if you ask me for a guy who toots his horn of being all about love and women empowerment. That being said I respect you guys have interviews with people on both sides of the spectrum.

What a game of switch he plays. When we say reparations today it is meant as payment of decendents of slaves as there are no living people who were slaves from the United States. When Reagan did reparations to Japanese citizens it was to the living people who were interned. Not at all the same. When people can't be honest and have to play games with words it tells me some not too good things about their thinking processes.

They key to all of this is that we as Adventist must look at the character of the Pharisee, Sadducees and the disciples. There was a time when neither thought that Jesus way was the right way Jesus knew this and his responds to this was love. He love God, Neighbor which included his enemies. The question is can we love those who think and teach differently that we do? It's not a question of can we love them it's more less like we must love them.

I really like the story that Scotty told about the guy who was into Spiderman who invited him on his show. I notice that the guy had been abused and found inspiration not to take him on life through a Spiderman comic book and story. One thing I notice about that story was that the young man say the good in the story of Spiderman. We must remember that Satan mixes evil and good together. God separates darkness from the light. This guy at that moment of inspiration saw the good. He was inspired by the good and now he uses the good side of the Spider man story and Superhero story to reach others. I get it. I see this a lot with modern "Gospel" music and "Christian" Hip-Hop music. What I realize is that we are not all going to think the same. We are not all going to see things the same way. We must be loving and tolerate of others because although their way isn't our way it might be a way to reach people for God.

God inhabits our praise/gratitude.I have always had a problem when EG White said at the beginning of building the church, that we are not to go into the dens of iniquity in the cities, because angels will not accompany us into these places. She was basically saying ,let us spend our resources in getting this church up and running.I know Jesus came to where I was when I needed Him,and it was a den of iniquity.Jesus used someone to reach .e where I was.Adventists have always had this coldness.

I wonder what Myles thought of the late and very influential PCA pastor Tim Keller. Same denomination but very different attitude toward those with different beliefs. Keller's book The Reason for God takes an open position to other denominations and, for example, quotes from a number of Catholic thinkers and theologians. He believes the essentials are found throughout Christendom. His church, Redeemer, used the sda Advent Hope church for many years before moving into their own building. Would be curious if anyone knew Pastor Keller personally. I have been hugely blessed by his sermons and books, particularly The Prodigal God. I see Keller's stance serving his missionary goals of reaching secular New Yorkers. I guess Keller was Presbyterian-lite :) Myles' version of Presbyterianism smells suspiciously like exclusive, fundamentalist Adventism. It's interesting that Myles described Adventism as Babylon because of the diversity of thought within. Presbyterianism has split into several different branches, 4-5 main ones in the US. Myles referred to one of the liberal ones as apostate. Does it serve the work of Christ to focus so much on who is "out" and fellowshipping only with Christians who share our same beliefs? I don't think so. I think conservative, moderate, and liberal Adventism come with some issues but also strengths. I've appreciated the insights and example set by people within each of those segments. If you ever happen to read this Myles, I think there is great freedom in embracing, fellow-shipping, and journeying with Christians with differing views.

OK guys, I made it almost to the end but to be honest with you, this podcast was too painful to finish. I wish I could find the words to describe the sadness I feel when I hear all of you express yourselves. The thing that makes me the most sad is the fact that you seem to have such a non-binary view of God and scripture. yet, at least three of you occupied positions of leadership in our church. I would like to know if there are any absolutes for you guys at all or is truth a moving target that changes with culture as time goes by? Does god change? Isn’t Jesus supposed to be The same yesterday today and forever according to Hebrews 13:8? in first or second Timothy, I cannot remember which right now, Paul says that in the last days there will be people who will always be learning but never coming to the knowledge of the truth. How would you guys differentiate yourselves from those in that class? I think it would be very difficult to come to the table and discuss the LGBTQ I a plus question without first considering these things. Much love to you.

I have a question for Jesse Anthony Sean and Eric. I noticed the title of your podcast is seeking what they sought. I believe they is supposed to be the founders of the seventh day Adventist church. How close do you guys feel you are getting to what they sought? how would you measure your progress? Is there a best way to get there and a not so good way to get there? I stopped at the 58 second mark because I have obligations. I am planning to finish, but I have noticed that you guys very rarely refer to scripture. May I ask why? I can understand the peace that comes when someone like Jordan an LGBTQ person comes to terms with what feels most comfortable to them. However, is god expecting followers of his word to process his word by their feelings and experiences or should his followers process their feelings and experiences by his word? there are so many other questions I would like to ask you maybe I should have a podcast and invite you all on it to ask my questions. L O L much love to you.

I agree with Jesse about some things being sins for different people. I recently quit caffeine, nicotine and weed because I used all three all the time and it was eating my life. I eventually realized this and with God's help quit them all cold turkey. However I still have a drink every once in awhile because I don't really like it so the temptation of life ruining addiction isn't present for me in that particular substance. I think there's a lot of nuance around what sin is for different people and the tendency in the church I've seen is everyone applying their experience on everyone else. Not that their experience isn't valid, it's just that others have different experiences that are also valid.
