Nice reel renewal video! Did you have to renew the brakes? Rubber or cork sealing? Roller bearings? What line do you use on it?
@abgregg2083 ай бұрын
@@jensmatthaei3293 I didn't replace anything just grease for the gears and oil for the bearings. The reel is still going strong to this day.

Knot geek here. You run that tag through the 2 loops a 2nd time & you got a Springer knot named after a guy named Springer who fought a 216 lb tuna on 100 lb mono for 6 1/2 hrs landed it & it held! If you run that tag through a 3rd time & cinch it right you got a jansek special which I use now on all my hks & rockcod jigs ling cod jigs, it never breaks. You know its tied right when the tag sticks out from main at a 90 degree angle & the knot looks like a little fist (rated at 100% line strength). Great subject matter check out the RP knot for connecting braid to fluoro or mono. If you have a real strong fixed loop knot I need 1 I can use for Tuna (fly lining) thats simple & stronger than the perfection loop which I use for live baiting halibut. Thx. Great sharing the interest.

I get this and redo them and put a new skirts and color them $2.75 around. The skirts are 2.75 for 3 pack and color 4.75 and $1 buzz bait. I did the color with a heating gun. Cheep and I get 3 of each color I want for back up when I lose it in the blue 😅 to the fishes.

Just because of my visuals the last few years. I am in the Chattanooga area. In certain locations we have a real abundance of nice skipjack. But nowadays with the rising popularity of catfishing I see more and more people abusing skipjack. They are a fun fish to catch and nothing else beats them for catfishing bait. But people please understand that you do not need a limit every time you go out to catch them. We have a statewide daily limit of 100 in tennessee. It's common for me to see people filling those huge coolers absolutely full to the point you cannot close them. At some of our local dams I see people filling a huge cooler and taking it home and coming back then refilling it again. This is not being done by bait dealers. I know most all of the bait dealers in our area because I myself am a bait dealer. I never ever take our daily limit even though yes I could easily sell 200 to 250 per day. I would rather maintain a good population for the long term. I keep a log of what I catch for bait sales by when, where, length,how many and more. I have done this for many years and I am seeing a steady decrease in numbers and size the last 5 years. Last year I started lobbying TWRA with my info to consider reducing our daily limit again. Earlier this year I took a call from them wanting my numbers for this year thus far because they are considering doing another limit reduction. They said it may take 5 years to do it but they are seriously looking at it. From over fishing them and many out of state bait poachers coming into Tennessee to several people without a bait dealer license whom sell skipjack through Facebook marketplace to all over the country I can certainly see a lower limit coming if this keeps going on. Save our resource and maintain it for years to come. PLEASE!

In my experience with the pump like that the housing heats up from running the pump constantly and will eventually heat up the water killing the baitfish as well I chose to get a livewell pump that mounts outside of the tank to keep the water cool inside the tank and just install your water lines outside the tank back up to the top
