I became a minimalist 30 yrs ago when I first started travelling and will continue to choose this lifestyle (I'm now 59). It's not for everyone I know, but it is for me.

I think when you delete all machines which consume more energy and useless fashion in your life, you will be minimalist.

It's so true "less is more". When I lived for a month in a 13-square-meter apartment painted red with just 2 suitcases, I was happier than in my new 24-square-meter apartment, where I needed to fill the white walls with stuff I didn't need to make it more of a home. I think it is interesting that the concept of minimalism in architecture is often interpreted as a room with no colour; everything is white with accents of black and beige, like my new apartment. It just doesn't feel like a home. When I saw that tiny house in the doc, it looked like a home to me-small, cosy, and safe. I guess everyone has their own aesthetic, although it feels like that mass media is kind of dictating that style, at least in Europe. Or am I wrong? It's shocking to see to what extent media and advertising are running our lives these days. To me, minimalism is about living with less, without taking the colour out of life.

😢😢I would like to simpify my life, but I need cosy and books and plants, colour, furnishings. I respect your idealism, but I would be sad in this house. 😅😅😅

I love this documentary, I keep going back to it, in the beginning when he said he had a vacant void and he tried to fill it with consumerism, it instantly hit me, I had the same feeling, but instead of continuing to buy products, I turned to Jesus, he filled that empty void, everything else follows on how to manage life, this documentary is about consumerism and being materialistic but it’s deeper than that, it shows people’s lack of the desire to seek GOD, it also shows where people’s priorities lie, the distraction is constantly in your face, from your phone, tv, laptop etc. Learning to budget is the way to get ahead, don’t go on and try to impress others just cause you want to be in current trends.

The fatty acids found in artery clogs are mostly UNSATURATED (74%), of which 41% are POLYUNSATURATED. (Lancet 1994 344:1195) I would say, clogged arteries are the primary reason for H/D and H/BP which they ignore. The good fat we've been told to eat 60-odd years ago. When the FAT INDUSTRY was conceived. U know Stop consuming ANIMAL FAT. Now we are 20-30 times FATTER and SICKER than we were 60-odd years ago. face-orange-frowning Perhaps that is why this country spends 4 Trillion on health care.

This is much less about minimalism that about the mental health of the people that speaks. Its so empty that ends up being ugly. And is like toxic positivity, but toxic minimalism.

Great episode! I had to laugh at the part where TK mentioned "...dating as a non-Mormon living in Utah". Relatable, as an Ex-Mormon living in Utah...An Ex-Mormon minimalist that is...makes it even more difficult! 🤣 Perhaps I need to relocate somewhere else!

But cancer, cardio vascular disease and lupus do occur in animals that live in nature...You can quickly research this yourself and find a lot of information on it. I'm sure there is scientific evidence to support grounding also, but when someone tries to prove one thing by making false statements and opinion-based claims about another, it affects their credibility. Now I can't be sure whether I believe any of the rest of the things he says, so i'll have to look elsewhere for information. I want to do my own research on grounding and hope that it might be effective, but these sorts of statements just make me have more doubts in the motivation to sell this idea. This isn't to discredit grounding, but more to show that not everything these experts say is entirely factual or to be taken without additional investigation

Wouldn't it be amazing if a top executive said , y know skip my bonus /pay rise and give it 'say ' to Trish on the reception desk who could do with help meeting her rent , surely the more one person gets there's always going to be people who get less . Am a happy minimalist because was fortunately born in the 60's😊
