Thank you for this episode. I've had so much help for my chronic illnesses from dietary and lifestyle changes. I love swimming in the summer time in wild bodies of water as it is extremely grounding. Sadly at least for now my body can't handle cold water swimming (or 'avanto'), and walking barefoot is hard also in our very cold winters. I will try woolly sock walks where you layer up with many layers of woolly socks this winter when it's well below freezing and not wet. :)

Cutting out essential oils of all kinds was life-changing after decades of extremely painful dysmenorrhea. I accidentally experimented with this and it's apparent that essential oils can disrupt hormones. Now I'm also simplifying to all fragrance-free products. Nothing else ever worked like this, I tried so many elimination diets.

I have a similar experience with RA and 2 other autoimmune conditions. I too have tried it all but became worn down from the pain. It doesn’t help when others depend on you and want their needs met first (not children). I am learning to brush them off. Thanks for this and the detail you have provided. Healing one day at a time.

I had a similar experience trying to figure out my medical condition, even had a doctor accuse me of drug seeking! No one ever figured it out, I gave up…learned to live with it. That was 13 years ago.

I thought grounding was bananas too. Until tried it. I have a thyroid issue and I have chronic joint pain and muscle aches. Grounding is the only thing along coupled with changing my diet that has helped me. The diet change wasn’t enough but grounding was the game changer. I have also reduced headaches and dizziness from the thyroid disease. Grounding is NOT the silver bullet but I believe it’s necessary. I am on week 3 of grounding. Autoimmune diseases snowball into more autoimmune diseases. If you have any autoimmune issues, take care of it now so it doesn’t cause other issues.

Hey, I just heard about this last week and got myself a grounding blanket because it's now snowi g where I live, so it makes it harder to walk barefoot on grass... Last night I used it for the first time and I had unusual body sensations throughout the night. At one point I felt like I was being pulled down from inside my bed. I had moments of dizziness. I experienced waves of what I can only describe as energy (not heat, not cold chills) flowing from the top of my head to my knees. It felt very weird and I woke up several times. I do feel much better rested even though I woke up around 7. Have you felt anything similar when you implemented grounding?

If you really want to understand minimalism, research the SANYASI lifestyle according to HINDUISM, people have been living it for thousands of years. There are so many "vipassana" centers in India, where people practice it for 10 days, totally free, anybody can try.
