@@dark_confidants I feel you with the magic burn out. With all the new sets stuff coming out it has been getting a bit much for every one I think. If you asked me 4 years ago if I could get MTG over load I would have laughed at you. Hope you come back to pauper but if not, you do you man. Definitely depends on playsyle, but for aristocrats those are great. I'm (Marcus) partial to relentless rats for mono black aggro. For black Commanders that have partner, Tormod and Armix are strong and high on competitiveness if paired with Ghost Ramirez.

Yes, only 1 life overall was gained, however in terms of Magic, he lost 2 life and gained 3 life. The outcome is an overall gain of 1 life, but since 3 life was gained during the turn, the delayed trigger of Indulging Patrician will be put on the stack and resolve. Basically, as long as 3 life was gained, regardless of starting and ending life totals of the turn, the ability will trigger. This is directly from the card's rule page as well from Scryfall: Indulging Patrician's last ability looks at how much life you've gained in the turn, even if it wasn't on the battlefield when you gained life. It doesn't care if you also lost life, even if you lost more life than you gained.(2020-06-23)

@@dark_confidants Thank you for the reply! I guess I should have dug into it more myself. I think I got it confused with other cards that require a net gain of life to activate, for example Sigarda's Splendor.

Kind of a split. Araumi and, more recently, Rocco are considered cPDH. But yeah, a lot of luck involved with those opening hands.

Yeah, it’s not great here. Matt definitely had that moment of realization this game when he wanted to encore more but couldn’t.

That's a fun idea. There are 4 Lords from Dark Ascension. Drogskol Captain for Spirits, Diregraf Captain for Zombies, Stromkirk Captain for Vampires, and Immerwolf for Wolves/Werewolvws. But to open more options, we might look at the Innistrad plane as a whole for additional ideas too.

@@dark_confidants Ahh! I completely forgot about Immerwolf lol. Also, would there be any interest in playing viewer decklists, or is brewing half the fun?

We definitely enjoy the brewing aspect. We don’t mind taking some requested commanders and seeing what we can do with them, but we do enjoy trying to put our twist one what we build.

Thank you! Bear’s Companion was really fun to play. The 4/4 token is pretty good for the format, and it’s a nice Flicker pay off. I do want to tweak the deck a bit, so it might see more play further down the line.

It’s definitely a cool commander to build around. You can go full Flicker combo or lean into a graveyard/zombie based deck like Matt did here.

Good catch and solid points. Also, with Cory's Heirloom in play I (Marcus) tried to make him tap it by targeting Hide Tide in my yard but he correctly let me grab it rather than activating in response lol. I knew I was stuck between a (Mana) rock and a hard place when he played it lol.

@@dark_confidants Heirloom was a big play here. One Flicker deck having that made it really tough for the other.

We definitely focused on her early and often here, but the Ley Weaver/Lore Weaver deck played a heavy role in that decision. Ley/Lore is one of, if not the best decks in the format, so I think everyone was focusing on that going into this game.

Absolutely correct on all counts. I think the Bogle was my (Marcus) biggest fear. Having hexproof really limits the "right" answer to deal with it.

Glad you liked it! Looking back, I (Cory) should’ve been attacked way more, as there were good opportunities to get in damage against me. Sometimes you’re able to fly under the radar for some reason, though.

Those are great cards, but unfortunately they aren't legal in Pauper EDH since those have never been printed at common rarity. If they were, I would definitely agree to add them.
