The reason why I support Liverpool to this day. In the 80's at school in the playground everyone wanted to be John Barnes.

He was a wonderful footballer and I was fortunate enough to watch him play many times. It’s a shame that he was such a poor commentator who behaved like a spoilt kid when his contract at the BBC ended.

They were real professional players then, not overpaid brats. And Roger was a true gentleman.

If he'd gone abroad.....Jesus wept. Typical scouser.

The best player I've ever faced. He was much more than a defender, he was really a libero/sweeper with incredible technical ability. Genuinely two footed and had a passing range that too many people forget about. He was simply a magnificent footballer.

It's true that Tommy's footballing skill is often forgotten, but never by Liverpool supporters. Also forgotten is the fact that as a youngster he was an excellent striker. A great passer of the ball, good in the air and a tremendous shot with BOTH feet.

They talk about players who'd run through brick walls...Tommy never had to bother, the brick walls just got out of his way 🤣

Legend. He was fucking garbage. Slow as anything. And a horrible man. As for Bishop so called scouser from Runcorn whos lived in Manchester all his life.

Favourite Liverpool player ever. I think if he’d have been able to play in Europe I think the rest of the would have recognised him as one of the best.

Little known fact. Dalglish was on trial at Liverpool when he was 15/16 and was sent home (apparently shankly went mad when he realised they'd missed him after Paisley signed him). He was also on trial at West Ham. And they sent him home too.

Barnes was stunning back then at LFC. Shame English clubs were banned from Europe as who knows what LFC would’ve done in Europe with that side between 1987-1990

Jan Molby was a brilliant player. Totally underrated. Made the game look so simple (It is....) His finest hour the 1986 FA Cup Final (first hearing here of the goal v Man Utd). That meg pass to get the ball through to Ian Rush for the first goal - totally deliberate. Thanks for posting this footage.
