Really cool, trying to do something very similar but I have my consumer CRT on its side for proper vertical orientation for games like PacMan. Thinking leaving the bottom open in the front and just putting in a mini fridge too.
@MakeItSo12 күн бұрын
Nice! I don't play enough vertical games to warrant something like that but those Candy Cabs from Japan actually built in rotating CRTs so you could swap the orientation depending on the game. So cool.
@primecalibur12 күн бұрын
@@MakeItSo I've seen setups like that, absolute madness lol. I wouldn't wanna deal with degaussing a rotating CRT, not to mention I'd rather not open a CRT for proper mounting - easier to just keep it in the shell like you have here.

What sucks is that the bare plastic at the front of the dash next to the windshield often is brittle and cracked (commonly where that VIN plate is). Hard to find a used one not in similar condition. Unless you are lucky to find one from a low mileage, garage-kept EG/EJ Civic.

I gotta replace the fan on the radiator everything ive seen keeps telling me replacement s only work on manuals idk much about cars but does that actually even matter i have an automatic
@MakeItSo2 ай бұрын
I would assume the radiator and radiator fans are identical whether or not you have a manual or automatic. Use this link to lookup your radiator fan part number, then switch over to a manual transmission model line the Si and compare the part numbers. There were two different fan suppliers, so you may need to match the fan style you need, either Denso or Toyo. Which you may have to look at your car to determine. I think the main difference will be the plug to connect the fan to the chassis harness.

I'm following in your footsteps, I've purchased the donor parts for the rear brake exchange. Did you purchase a bushing kit? Or did you buy the bushings individually? I need to replace everything under my car and the kit would be convenient, I'm unsure however if the kit for my car is compatible with the rear brake assemblies....
@MakeItSo3 ай бұрын
I purchased a full suspension kit from Energy Suspension. In my case the rear disc conversion didn't change any of my bushing needs. I have lots of bushings I didn't use in the end, but some of those are for if you're replacing bushing on the factory shocks and things like that. I have coilovers so I didn't use them. But I think it's still worth it to get the kit if you want to do everything.

Why the aftermarket fenders? Was it just easier for paint?
@MakeItSo4 ай бұрын
They were an impulse buy when I first got the car two years ago so I figured I'd use them. I didn't do a good job of showing it off but the stock fenders have a bunch of dings, dents, and deep scratches. I figured this would save me some time, since I already had them sitting around.

@MakeItSo4 ай бұрын
I guess it depends on the condition of the metal. I hit them with some PB Blaster then with the impact gun and they popped right off. When I did the same on my CRX I stripped one and ended up welding a metal bar to the head of one to be able to get it out. They are super frustrating.
