Qidi just released the plus4, which is the perfect cosplay printer if you ask me! It’s 305x305x280 sized, and it has an active heater at 65C so your ASA/ABS prints can be extremely durable. ASA/ABS is even easier to sand than PLA, or you could make a vapor-smoothing setup with acetone to skip 90% of the post-processing. You can also use acetone to chemically weld your prints, so that the gap between prints is just as strong, if not stronger than the rest of the print. The Plus4 also costs only 800USD, and has an AMS releasing in the first quarter of next year. Qidi also doesn’t spy on you like Bambu, and has the greatest customer service of any 3D printer company.

I'm working on a helmet now but will likely do a custom paint job. Probably black and red. But excellent idea with the weathering with a cotton swab and mineral spirits. Going to give that a try! I started doing the black wash how you guys did it in this video and the Helldivers one and it's a game changer. My B01 armor is by far my best paint job yet. I also use that Seymour filler primer. It's so good.

Huge bummer, i just discovered you guys and starting getting files and missed out on the opportunity to sign up on patreon for the chaplain and a few other helmets. Still, got a few files to print from the shop and wanted to say thank you for slicing for smaller printers as it allows me to just fiddle with the position to get it to print. THANK YOU!!!!

One thing though other than an actual campaign the armor of the space marines is completely refurbished by the marine itself, the chapter serfs or a techmarine, they don't let the armor remain damaged for long, if there is a small pause in combat it is one of the first things they do. it does get damaged though so it still makes sense just all the damage is usually from a single mission or campaign..

Roughly a 300x300 would be needed to print a helmet- give or take depending on how you need to resize your helmet. I've done full helmet prints on Neptune Series printers, but the print quality on the Bambu Lab printers is hard to beat.

Very nice build, the model is made very well. The paint job is not entirely to my taste-although professional, it still gives the impression of being a 'plastic toy' or figure. (Perhaps this is a deliberate effect to reflect the texture from Space Marine 2.) In my build, as shown in my avatar or the last video, I aimed to achieve the effect of a 'real' helmet that has survived 200 years of constant war. Of course, this is a matter of personal taste. Nevertheless, it is a very good prop!
