Chopped this down (just to Tekken's part) because I kept getting a bunch of copyright issues. Maybe one day they'll figure out how to do award shows without lighting up claims like a christmas tree.

Going frame by frame (using the ',' and '.' keys), it looks like Arslan had already stopped moving by that frame. Granted, the animation has a little splining but that's likely what happened.

Forgot to mention something you've asked a couple times in the past during round robin formats. Regarding the points gained/lost, the formula is quite simple. For every game you take, you gain a point, for every game you lose, you lose a point. So, a 2-0 win nets you 2 points, a 2-1 win gives 1 point, a 1-2 loss subtracts 1 point, and going down 0-2 takes away 2 points, all straightforward. Basically, had Ulsan beat Kkokkoma (2-1 or 2-0, wouldn't make a difference in this case), he would have been completely safe, because losing to Farzeen would at worst tie him with Kkokkoma (and he would automatically win that tiebreak due to their head-to-head result) But the fact he lost to Kkokkoma, meant that he *HAD* to beat Farzeen, either 2-0 or 2-1. The "catch" with the standard RR format is that there's two main things to factor, head-to-heads and point swings. Since for every match, for the total point swing of the combatants, there's only two possible scenarios (either a 2 point or a 4 point swing (for 2-1s and 1-2s, and for 2-0s and 0-2s respectively, so basically, either winner gets 1, loser loses 1, or winner gets 2, loser loses 2), it's quite easy to anticipate the possible scenarios after a couple matches have concluded. In this instance, Farzeen was in some trouble before Kkkokkoma beat him 2-1, because even if he had beat Kkokkoma, he would *need* to 2-0 Ulsan (because there wouldn't be a Kkokkoma to cuck Ulsan out of the group). Funnily enough Farzeen managed to do the latter and eliminate Ulsan with his own hands, even though he had no chance of making it out himself at that point. Last but not least, head-to-head results can still make the difference in point ties, as they're an automatic tie-break, which pretty much eliminates scenarios of 2-person ties, though 3-way ties can still rarely occur (and have occured), and those would require an additional playoff phase for the 3 combatants. In this group, we were so close to a 4-man tie, which is super rare, and I'm not even sure how the rules would be for that scenario. But due to Farzeen getting russian-assaulted by Atif, Ulsan fingerd by Farzeen, and Nobi-san getting Nobi'd by Ulsan, we didn't get it. 😔

I think the additional levels on the fight pass were shown for consumable stuff. The little tekken logos appear to be ‘cheers’ like the fireworks that are available. Doesn’t seem worth it for consumables, but might be good in the future as a way for them to make old battle pass stuff available again if people missed it previously (eg a bonus level could include stuff from a previous pass, maybe as a bundle).

Great coverage of twt Tyler, your commentary is as impeccable as ever. Regarding Bears' ws1 floats, you could still get a screw in T7, but had to commit to delaying the second part of ws1, 2, and you couldn't really confirm it, just anticipate/read the float. On more serious, and extremely important, matters, I've been closely following your commentating escapades for some years, and I now feel confident enough to ask from you something of great significance. Could you please utilize the twt win/loss pictures in your thumbnails? 🥹 After the Anton Chigur Nobi thumbnail from dreamhack Atlanta, I believe we *need* a sequel. Book's, Kwstakys' and many others' poses have some killer thumbnail potential.

Been thinking about grabbing them, the only issue is I can't find the direct sources from Namco. I can pull them from video but with this year's black and white motif, it makes things trickier. If someone has a website to pull them from, though, I'd do it 100%.

Cant wait to see who the new busted top tiers are going to be. No word on infinite rematch in quick play is extremely disappointing, we're coming on one year since the game was released, things like better photo mode/more customization slots feel like additions that should've been added in the first months instead of hyped up for season 2.

Eddy's db1+2 is currently +12 on hit which guarantees his d1+3 crouch grab heat engager. He can also get this off two other moves on counter hit, 1+2 and D4,3. I'm wondering if db1+2 is now +13 or +14 on hit so he can land this new heat engager for more damage than going for the crouch grab. Either way, it seems like Eddy will have a heat engager he can use to punish someone at -13 or -14 on block, so that's a nice buff.

1:41:20 -- No that's not correct. Kazuya is only ever +7 on hit (standing or crouching doesn't matter). So f4, db1,2~f is _only_ done because you can't interrupt them. Even if f4 (i19) hits, you can interrupt another f4 with ws4, so Keisuke is playing a very dangerous game. Kazuya's only safe mid that is less than i15 is df4 which is -9 on block, completely giving up the turn. So when you have heat with Kaz, it's so tempting to do f4, db1,2~f just because you can (like you mention, super powerful when you can hit confirm it). In the game, Keisuke hits with f4 then db1,2~f and does another f4 (blocked) ssr f4 (blocked) db3 which gets interrupted by ws1. The ssr is to beat ws moves (ironically ssr doesn't beat ws1, but ssl beats both ws4 and ws1). Why he then attempts a db3 is beyond me. db3 is only one frame faster than db4 (i19 vs i20), but everything else about is worse. It ducks highs, but Edge is fc, he's not going to do a high.
@GromaGromaGroma6 күн бұрын
Actually b2 is i14 and safe. I've seen him end rounds like that too now that I think of it. f4 (blocked), b2>>>>2, d4 ... Something like that
@ObeseKings5 күн бұрын
b2 is i14 innit? doesn't change your logic though.
@GromaGromaGroma5 күн бұрын
@@ObeseKings Yes you are right. I replied to my own comment yesterday with exactly that :) I tried using it today in similar scenarios, and it worked really well. For some reason I even kept scoring counter hits on the second hit of b22 when I delayed it, so the laser was guaranteed giving a wall splat. I stole a few rounds with that :D
@meysamsamadi75877 күн бұрын
1:41:26 he probably got up at the last second or tried to sidestep or something. I've been f*cked by this with reina so many times. You'd think they ducked and you do a tp and you find yourself minus 14 against a Bryan and that's it right there.
@Tyler2k7 күн бұрын
Looking at the frame data, it might just be +7c, so the d/b+1,2 isn't guaranteed *but* I do remember something special with Kazuya and Heat Mode f+4.
