I can't stand the pickup selector in that position like a LP...gets in the way when you go to tap. And the neck shape should be the Wolfgang profile...offset cut so the bass side is larger and the treble side is smaller. It's a unique, but very comfortable profile. I've heard the FU Pro guitars have extremely comfortable necks. That's a guitar you should check out - The FU Pro guitar from FU-Tone. It comes loaded with the FU Tone upgrades. I have a similar guitar in the Schecter DJ Ashba signature...top mounted Floyd 1500, 22 fret maple/ebony neck, killswitch, but pickup selector is on the lower horn and it has an EMG 81 in the bridge and a Sustainiac in the neck. Killer guitar.

We all learned that carbon fibre isn't as amazing as we were one told via that little Submarine Titan Ocean Gate used. So the lesson here is don't take this guitar to Titanic depths. I do like the coffee holder in this design.

I'm a huge ZW fan, but his guitars don't really appeal to me. Shapes are too crazy and I heard the necks are baseball bats. Out of all of them I like the Barbarian (SG) with the metal top and the Nomad Redrum.

Looks fonky, sounds great! I love the offset pick gobbler! A fine candidate to replace my not so bad, but huge, cheapy Mitchell acoustic with a wind of mechanic’s wire pulling together the split headstock, (my clumsiness.)

The best and most unique IMO is the DJ Ashba signature. It is absolutely LOADED spec-wise: alder super strat body with cool matte white with black racing stripes finish, 22 fret non-laquered maple neck with ebony board with the super cool "birds on a wire" inlays (they are crows...he is a Hitchcock The Birds fan), unique reversed 2 over 4 headstock so there is straight string pull through the nut to the tuning pegs, Sustainiac in the neck (which is a single coil...the other plastic bobbin is a dummy to make it look like a humbucker), EMG 81 in the bridge, non-recessed Floyd 1500 with push-in arm, 3-way selector on the lower horn (like Nuno's N4), killswitch, and single volume knob. I love using the Sustainiac in the harmonic position. It is my #1 guitar and I had it upgraded by Adam Reiver with FU-Tone brass block, brass claw with screws, D-tuna, titanium saddle inserts, and titanium lock nut/screws. It's one of the few guitars that is 22-fret with a top-loaded Floyd (besides the EVH stuff), but also has killswitch and Sustainiac. Maybe not for everyone, but I love it. It also comes in a cool blackburst finish or dark gray.

I looked through the whole Amazon thing, they don't tell you what the scale is any place! I prefer 24 3/4, and I don't buy the longer scale acoustics. Even at the great price of $249. 8( Oh well... Peace --gary

I had exactly the same thoughts about that guitar as SFB did before he said it -- a very pleasing, resonant sound with surprising bass. In fact, I've never seen a demo of any carbon fiber acoustic guitar on YT at any price point that I didn't think sounded good. I suspect that tradition is what keeps it from being a more popular material. As far as price goes, I'm puzzled because I've been fishing (mostly fly fishing) for way longer than I've been into guitar and you can buy a carbon fiber rod (called "graphite" in the fishing industry but it isn't graphite) for $20 at Dick's or Walmart. Of course, you can also pay close to $1000 for a rod by Scott, Sage, Orvis, Winston etc. but those are premium builds made in the U.S.A. with premo components. Point, though, is that nobody in the fishing biz and hobby thinks of carbon fiber as a premium material that you pay up for. But for some reason in the guitar biz it's considered premium. Dunno why.

Good commentary there. I think it might just be because of the fact that it can handle any weather and humidity conditions and on top of that it sounds pretty good so it just makes a good alternative to wood for multiple reasons.

was that John Denver The Eagle and The Hawk at 11:35 ? in any case this is a great sounding acoustic for the price, and it seems atm at least they have a $20 off coupon which brings the price down to $229 , and while some people may be upset the entire guitar isn't carbon fiber i think its the combination of a carbon fiber top with african mahogany back sides and neck that gives the guitar its warm full resonant tone

Correction, on position 4 even though its two coils but its not a humbucker since the two coils are in parellel. That why its more thinner but lots of snap and high end. It. Functions like a single coils but even lower impedance output.

I have that Kind with the ash body. It sounds amazing. The pickups are awesome for hard n heavy music. Bur most of all i love the playabilty. It is so smooth in your hands. Warm and perfect. So to be honest. It really replaces all the guitars that I own for heavy Tones. Even if they were much more expensive. This one is a beast in value for money. Thanks a lot for the Video.

Dang Steve! I didn't know you were doing videos back this far and then some! You were ahead of the guitar game on KZbin! I believe you should have way more subs! Love ya Steve! Edit: Those are real Epi parts. They probably work at the Epi factory and build these on the side. That's why those pickups sound decent.

The gigbag seems pretty nice for a 700 quids axe👍 And I prefer the Kalamazoo headstock instead of the Gibson open book one, it's the original Epiphone headstock and is way fancier than the gravestone one...
