Those look really good. We make a similar thing with phyllo dough or cups. Super crispy and yummy. 🥰

I love your dedication to make the christmas decorations yourself! I too am working on decorations, adding something each year to the collection (too prevent overwhelm of doing it all in one month!). I recently finished a tree skirt as a stashbusting project. I was wondering if you know about being more sustainable and responsible in choosing yarns to knit/crochet. I've been struggling in choosing the right yarns (no plastic/ all natural fibers/keep the animals happy/durability/etc). I'm sure I'm not the only one with this problem though...

You might like Arne and Carlos, they just released their annual stocking knit- along pattern. And the daily videos showing progress. I think the pattern is still free for a day or 2, and the videos stay up on their channel.

That turned out beautifully. I've been intimidated but also impressed by people who use multiple knitting needles and even circular knitting needles. I watched P!nk's last documentary (yes the singer) of her concert. And she was using a circular knitting needle while riding in a car and talking with her kids. I was thinking "Wow! Not only can she sing upside down on silks. But she also knits and has two adorable little kids."

I watched this thinking when did I subscribe to a knitting crochet channel that is also vegan? Then I recognized the channel name. So Vegan knitting crochet channel I may not know. But being subscribed to Sustainably Vegan who knits and crochets I now know.

The classic christmas star motif also interpreted as snowflake originates in Bethlehem (Beit Lahem), were Jesus was said to be born. It is actually called moon of Bethlehem and originates from Palestinian Tatreez. It brings me joy seeing the cultural significance of the land and its people during christmas.

I love all of the projects you are working on. Crafting around the holidays is therapeutic and cozy all together. I will share that I am making an advent calendar for my children. I bought used fabric and am making pouches to hang from a branch that was trimmed from one of my trees. It’s looking so cute and is so much fun to use resources that I have at hand.

i love these!! apologies if i've missed this in the past, since i just recently picked up crochet, but immy have you ever unravelled a thrift store sweater to reuse the yarn? i think that could be such a fun and educational video about making yarn crafts more affordable, accessible and sustainable -- plus, for those who might object to buying new animal fibers but don't mind them secondhand, this can really expand the range of materials you can use and the types of projects you can make!

If you salvage a lovely looking stick on a jog or walk to bring home you could hang your baubles on there. I don’t celebrate Christmas but as a pagan I do observe Yule which is very much about nature and food. Bringing in some nature really brightens up an otherwise bleak season.

The eight-pointed star is an ancient motif in tatreez, the traditional Palestinian embroidery technique. It is known as the "Star of Bethlehem". While many associate it with holidays and Christmas, its origins in Palestinian heritage are often overlooked. I wanted to highlight this, especially now, as preserving and cherishing Palestinian traditions is more important than ever.
