climate change end of ice age was responsible for the end of the huge megafauna rather then human hunting. humans arrived in north america about 25 thousand years ago way earlier then what scientists thought so they are not responsible for the end of ice age animals in north america ...

4:21* It is called the Arabian Gulf because on the western side, five Arab countries (called the Arabian Gulf countries) overlook its coasts, and there is only one Persian country surrounding it from the east. Also, for thousands of years, the Arabs used to build ships and sail the waves of this gulf to catch fish or trade with distant countries such as China or India. They also used to and still use to extract the rarest and most beautiful pearls from it. The Persians were afraid of it and did not dare to cross it except once. In return, the Arabs traded with the Persians through it for hundreds of years, and even crossed it to occupy the Persians during the time of the Arab (Islamic) conquests. I am sorry if there are mistakes in my comment. My first language is not English :).

It's known as both

@ You are right, but in the East it is known more as the Arabian Gulf than the Persian Gulf, and also on the banks of this Gulf, on the Iranian side, there is a mountain range that extends to Iraq and Turkey, and this thing hinders the Persians from easily descending the Gulf. Unlike the Gulf countries, their land is flat and desert, and there is no mountain range overlooking the Gulf. There are also several Arab tribes that came from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Kuwait and lived on the Persian side. In short, 70% of the population overlooking the Gulf are Arabs

@@HAPPY-_-PAPA121 oh I fully understand that the western name for most things is probably wrong. We have a habit of it. Persian is a word used more by America I believe.
@HAPPY-_-PAPA1212 күн бұрын
@ If we go back in history, starting with the Assyrians, they used to call it the Great Sea of Sunrise or the Bitter River, and the Arabs until recently called it names such as the Gulf of Basra or Qatif, a Saudi city adjacent to it, and other names. In contrast, some Greek and Roman scholars called it the Arabian Gulf or the Red Gulf in reference to the Red Sea. Until recently, some Europeans called it the Arabian Gulf, and perhaps some of them still do. The Persian name, perhaps as you mentioned, came from America. Apart from this, my God, there are many names given to this gulf. For a moment, I feel that the whole world has a special name for it, lol

Aloha from the island of Hawai'i, also known as the Big Island. I work in conservation and mostly do survey/monitoring for rare plants and invasive species control. Thank you for raising awareness about the Kaua'i 'ō'ō. The hawaiian islands bear the sad moniker of "extinction capital of the world". Some of the 'ō'ō's relatives still live today thankfully-- other honeycreepers which belong to one of the most diverse and fascinating radiations of animal on earth. Our ecosystems are historically so isolated and specified that the introduction of certain foreign plant and animal species, pathogens, as well as the absence of very key plant and animal species puts us in a very uncertain place. On Kaua'i, several very rare honeycreepers face extinction. I believe there are roughly 5 (?) akikiki known to be left, a grey honeycreeper. It may go extinct as soon as next year. Extinction here is very real and very tragic, the akikiki is far from the last taxon of animal or plant very narrowly threatened with extinction. I feel lucky to get to work with some of the rarest of rare plants, though that definitely comes at a price paid for by peace of mind. I'm reminded of an Aldo Leopold quote that went something like "to have an environmental education is to live in a world of wounds". I remain hopeful that we can halt the uncertain freefall that our native ecosystems are in right now, while raising far more awareness and appreciation for our ecosystems, the likes of which quite literally cant be found anywhere else. The way humans as a species are looking at issues like this is the equivalent of seeing the Louvre on fire and ignoring it. We're somehow too smart and industrious as well as narrow-minded for our own good. I'm optimistic that humanity is slowly becoming more ecologically aware. Recently, the hawaiian crow or 'alalā was just rereleased on Maui. The ecological situation is dire, but i have hope in us having some very industrious and intelligent people rising to the occasion

The lion isn't puking. It's blood dripping from its teeth. This is why it's being hunted. Also, people of the Western classical world would've been _astounded_ to see the microscopic world. Not to mention polar bears, kangaroos, and moose, to mention just a few.
