Well friggin done guys! The ambient music and sound effects really set this thing off.

That is a Sd.Kfz.8 half-track. This German 8 ton half-track has no real armor value. It has a crew of 2, and can carry up to 11 passengers. Maximum speed on road was 32 miles per hour, with a maximum off road speed of 16 miles per hour. With a maximum range of 168 miles on road, and like 72 miles off road. Please do not quote me on these stats. I am doing this from memory. I might not be completely right, but i am pretty sure i am close.

It doesn't sound like much, but when in uniform. WW2 U.S. Army paratroopers were allowed to blouse the pants legs into their jump boots. Blousing is tucking in your pants legs into your boots. For paratroopers, this is a big deal. It is one of the things on their uniforms. That makes them different than regular infantry (Straight Legs). At this time, one body in the U.S. Military wears a beret. Which is not allowed officially until 1962 with the U.S. Army Special Forces (Green Berets).

Years ago, right after I read the book Band of Brothers. I ran a G.U.R.P.s WW2 paratrooper game. The first game session was the airborne drop on Normandy France. June 6 1944. That game had a high character turn over rate. Most of those characters were just wounded, some even returned to their unit. After getting healed, physical therapy, all that fun stuff. It was a fun campaign, players after the first couple of fire fights. Started not wanting to get into fire fights. Simply because it was hard to get a character to progress in experience. A character that got wounded, had a one way ticket to the aid station. If that character survived. Then you add into the fact that the Germans pre sighted artillery and mortars, mine fields, and lots of MG-42 machine guns. The campaign ended in Operation Market Garden. The characters squad got separated from their platoon. Surrounded and eventually overrun. Three player characters were captured. I asked the players if they wanted to do a P.O.W. game, but they refused.

After listening to a full video out of only one ear at a higher volume so I can hear what is going on. I get freaking jump scared by the Firelock music blasting my ear drums at 2:30:41 ...lol holy crap im awake now...

At 5:27 you explained how you can chose to discard a card you rather not use becauww perhaps the intended unit is not longer around or some other reason, does discarding the card means you are also passing on your turn? Or discarding lets you draw another card? Or you are allowed to play a different card from your hand instead?

Heya, are you looking for players by chance? I'd understand if you won't, but honestly I'm just super engrossed by the storytelling and game just from watching. I imagine it'd be even better playing it myself. Please let me know!

Just a weird observation, but wouldn't the desert be freezing because of how sand conducts? Especially in the dark? Also, loved the session. Fun group of guys. I also love your banter, Brian, lots of fun quips that fit the era from the various NPCs!

Hey, I've been wondering. Where do you find these games and if you'd know one that's more navy-focused or pacific-focused My friends have been dying for some pacific theatre RPG. And I kinda think the japanese in the later half of the war are a perfect fit for that underdog aesthetic lots of RPGers seem to like

It was weird to do a coup de grace on the German soldier. He wasn't incapacitated or anything like that. It was basically a sneak melee attack that probably should have been done as a close combat attack with a 3 dice bonus for an unaware defender.

As a latecomer to the game I found this chat really interesting and informative. Surprised it hasn't had more views. Top work chaps.
