What does your firebox panel look like and does it list what all fuses are for? Thanks

This is easily the most well-designed and thought through camper trailer I've ever seen. Really good stuff. Thanks for sharing!

Nice video sir. I noticed last year on a trip to alaska that U.S. Bush beans are different from Canadian Bush beans. Those with the same label. It was interesting.

You've got me thinking that the super heavy ramp door on mine could be replaced with a bump-out shell on the back- but top hinge the assembly so a car can still be loaded using portable ramps that could store under the chassis. Kinda like the tip-up nose on the C-5 cargo plane, but on the back of a trailer. Nice work. I have all the ideas and inspiration, just not the physical drive to get out there and get mine going.

That would be a pretty neat idea!…. I’ve seen a few trailers at the junkyard that have a front or back that’s fibreglass with the wood frame in between. Maybe you can pull one of those off and fibreglass it to size? To make it out of metal even aluminum I think would be pretty heavy, you might have to end up sliding your axle back. I hear you on the motivation…. I’m staring at mine and debating about pulling it all apart to double insulate it for this winter. 😅

Nicely done- I'm converting a car trailer so it can be dual purpose camper or car hauler. I've found that pop-up campers with bad canvas can be had for almost nothing- so one can get the water heater, furnace, power panels, gas detectors, propane stuff, cooktop, water pumps/sink and tanks for basically free. Buy a rough looking popup for $300 and remove all the donor parts- then sell the gutted shell for $300 to someone to convert to a snowmobile/motorcycle/utility trailer. I sold one to a young lady who turned it into a mobile tea and biscuit business by just making it a portable kitchen with all the canvas removed.

That’s such an awesome idea! All the parts would be the right size for a small trailer build! I love it when ones think outside the box! We made a few improvements since this video- kzbin.info/www/bejne/bHiUXoCBj8Z2asUsi=Bh3cmdlIUw-TelXP

Makes me dream of the next time I can get away from the so-called ‘real’ life and indulge in the dreamier side of life. Well done! It's a great build. I'm a little nervous with unsealed plywood near the shower. Maybe a few coats of some clear sealer may be beneficial on all your wooden parts. ( It's not evident in the video, if it is, in fact, sealed.) I think that a fan mounted on the exhaust exit for the water heater is a better option. Trying to seal the heater cabinet and using a pressurising fan is problematic. Sucking everything out at the exit point means you don't have to guarantee a totally sealed heater box. They're just what I feel may be helpful hints. Go, go for your camping trips.

Really appreciate it we made changes to our shower which can be seen in our more recent trailer tour. I agree but I couldn’t find a fan that could take that high of a heat. Thanks for your comment. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bHiUXoCBj8Z2asUsi=id7OMFVd23JhY2lq

Pro-tip: black pipe is designed to be used in areas where it is not exposed to weather, which is why it's cheaper than galvanized pipe. Suggestion: pull that black pipe out and replace it with galvanized or it's gonna rust through and potentially cause an explosion at some point 🙏🏼 all the best
@waysoutback2 ай бұрын
I’d research that a bit more. Based on my research I found it was even illegal to use galvanized pipe in some states. Especially when it comes to propane. Whereas black pipe is allowed - one reason is they feel the coating can hide pin holes and what’s mentioned in the quote below. I’ve worked on a ton of RVs and I’ve not seen any galvanized pipes so I just went with it. I’m definitely no expert though… just try to follow them. Quote- “Galvanized pipe is NOT RECOMMENDED because slivers of zinc can come off the inside of the pipe and cause regulators and valves to malfunction. If you need to run black iron pipe for gas on the exterior of a building, it is OK to paint it to prevent rust streaks on the building.”

Right on, I love home built! 👌👍 I am running ford ranger rims because they have close to 0 offset and 31x10.5 cooper discovery AT3s. They are great I highly recommend them. You would just need to make sure you’re under the load rating for the weight of the trailer.
