Hi there, if you mean the cistern its Tradelinks homebrand but I wouldn't recommend them anymore. Reece base cistern is to me a better product for a budget cistern

Probably a silly question but if drilling into the wall to fasten the cistern is there a chance of hitting pipes or are the pipes usually located lower? Just wanted to double check before I have a go

Hey mate, no I've not come across it before but hey always a 1st for everything. Just make sure you screw into a stud if possible regardless if it doesn't line up with the holes in the cistern just make a new one. 1 good screw into a stud is better than 2 screwed into gyprock or cemet sheeting.

What if i have water leaking out of the tap handle when i use the hot water?? Any clues?? It leaks when in use and my back wall is all wet, been like that for over a year, plumbers are useless and cost me a fortune with no fixed results. 😡
@jasmoore5716
@jasmoore5716 3 ай бұрын
If that is the case you will need to service the spindles and install new orings and/or could also mean the spindle is over reached and due to the breach seat being thin. Without seeing it very hard for to tell which it is sorry

OMG thank you so much for your tutorial. I think I need to clean the seat so I’ll need to get that drill bit. I have change the washer like 5-6 times and I have to really turn the tap so tight to even have no water leaking from the shower head.

2 hours trying to get mine to stop and couldn't do it. turn the tap on and water comes out under the handle from the wall. Gave up. Maybe it was a bad piece of rubber or something.

the o rings don't stop it dripping do they? just stop it leaking to the outside when the tap is open, water coming out? and how far down can you take the tap seat? I have one with a black line across it which I suppose is a groove and that's where the endless dripping is from. but i've gone down what seems like a long way to me and it is still there. Must be a thing that happens a bit. so how far down can we go? and i'm thinking now get a push in reseat. so what about them? good vid. good clues. add those extras: great.
@ezyfixplumbing9552
@ezyfixplumbing9552 7 ай бұрын
How far you can reseat is a difficult question to answer mate. Is it in the wall like a shower breach or on a basin where you can replace it with ease. Sometimes if the cut on the seat is deep you might have to tap in a new seat instead of facing the one that is there. Sorry I can't give you a more direct answer without seeing and being there

@@ezyfixplumbing9552 hey, hi... thanks for that. I'll take a punt on one of these 'tap in' replacement seats and then if that doesn't work I'll go for the hydroseal 'screw in' job. I'll try and measure how much depth of seat there is left somehow. I wondered if this 'squiggly black thread' across the seat, from inside to outside, was a known happening and if so what is it? cracked brass casting? they are cast are they? or fault in the casting? you get that, do you? or there's some magic bug that eats through? I'll believe anything. :)

Hi there im using the exact same resetting tool from bunnings and i have been screwing down the tool thread bit into the red fibre o ring before spinning the drill bit. I notice you dont bother with this step and you get a perfectly smooth face. Is this why my tap is still leaking after resettling?
@ezyfixplumbing9552
@ezyfixplumbing9552 9 ай бұрын
Hi mate, no I don't think using a fiber washer on the tool will make any difference. If it's still leaking it must have a small imperfection on the seat or you've gone too far on the seat and now the breach may need replacing as if you've gone to far it will be to thing to install a new stainless steel seat

Great advice having taps open - but you did not address, nor replace, the red washer, between the tap and the wall pipe!!! That should have been checked for leaks after you turned the water back on. Be careful not to damage thread.
