As soon as you said it's a waste of time reseating I dropped my phone went to Bunnings and grabbed a new tape and some tape for $16 bucks and omg you were right. Problem solved let's move on with our lives. Thanks for the vid! :)

As said in the video, it is important to do at least 15 wraps of the plumber's tape. I found that a spanner is not needed to tighten it, and you can simply use the tap handle for leverage if needed. If you use 15 wraps of the tape, you will find the threads don't bottom out, but that's unnecessary and if you were to fully tighten to the last thread the tap will not be straight.

just normal Teflon thread tape mate. really it doesn't matter which along as it doesn't leak

Yep, tap the tap off and put more thread tape on it. You should go around the thread with tape around 15 times.

hey mate, most standard garden taps are 15mm. If in doubt grab both 15 and 20mm then just return the one you don't need

Use a waterless tap next time. Much better than the washer taps and never leak.
