Jamalo was a British Prisoner who was promised that he will be set free if he rides over the Sakkhar Bridge across the mighty River Indus in Sindh, Pakistan. The man was brave enough to accept the offer and rode over the bridge in a rail car and as a reward, was set free. When he reached his village, the villagers sang praises of him in folk music style of Sindh which eventually became a folk tale that travelled to different parts of Punjab, Haryana, Sindh, and KPK. You can listen to the most authentic version by Abeeda Praveen in Sindhi. Tufail Niazi was the first person to perform this on television on his show Lok Tamasha. Tufail Ji's version is the original Punjabi version that has been recorded. Malkit added the lyrics "Aaja Tootan Waale Kho Te", Tootan Waala Khoo is a Punjabi novel by Giani Sohan Singh Sital whose house still stands strong in Pind Ladhar in present day Pakistan.
