Lima skies are overcast almost half of the year. If you like gray skies and no sun half of the year, Lima is perfect for you. Good thing is that it never rains. The most you get is an annoying constant drizzle. Very humid winters. The weather is very much like London's. It can get very foggy as well. If you are thinkjng tropical climate just because it is in Southamerica, you are wrong.

I’d love to see videos focusing on different Peruvian cities and towns and what it’s like to live there for American immigrants. I’d also like to see a video recommending ways to acclimatize to the altitude to avoid getting sick if you’re going from low altitude to high altitude places

Those are both great topics, especially dealing with altitude. Thanks!

If you have money at least $1,200 US Dollars a month, you can live very comfortably and travel within Perú regional lands, just to discover amazing and beautiful places you've probably never seen in your entire life.

Yes, Peru is a big country with many diverse landscapes and regions to explore. It is certainly worthy of consideration for travel or retirement.

Hi Beasley. Thanks for the cool matrix.😊 I have been visiting Panama for about 4 years now. I like the beach for fun, but love the highlands for peace and cool fresh air. I ended up buying in Altos del Maria, near Sora so we can take a short drive to Coronado and get beach time in when we want. Mount Picacho watches over us! 😮😅
@beasleyfinds26 күн бұрын
You are most welcome. Sounds like a wonderful life you have there in Panama! I am partial to the highlands :)

I've retired in Peru and Equador the past 3 years. I've rented houses under 500/mo and now travel exclusively for my own enjoyment. The food is fresh and healthy..so many places to explore. Safety never a problem. It's not fancy and you'll see some sad people and animals so it takes some strength. I have no stress so doubt I can ever return to live in US.

That’s a great story! Sad at times like you said, but it's possible to make a life there.

Boquete rings alarm bells to many of us bringing to memory the bizzare death of the two dutch girls.Panamanian government should reopen their case and clear it up before advertising it to tourists.Poor women need justice
@beasleyfindsАй бұрын
I know of the case and hear your concerns. Of course this is a sad thing that happened, but (unfortunately) lots of people get killed in many parts of the world and people still live, visit, and enjoy those places. Boquete is a safe place to visit , so no reason to think it needs to be "hidden" from tourists.

Peruvians go to America because they think US is still the land of opportunities and also they're looking for stability that all political problems and bad immigration have brought. They're hard workers so they're sure everything will be ok abroad. It's not because of we have "just corruption" like in anywhere in Planet has it, even in the US, or because of we have no "good" jobs, it's not true at all. Otherwise, Peruvians think in the US they could earn a lot of money and certainly a lot of them they do and some of them invest this money in Peru also. In the last recent years, most of people who are leaving Peru are the middle class, well educated people, good for US bad for our country. Cheers.-

Did you encounter bears on the hike ? Would you recommend bear spray ?
@beasleyfinds2 ай бұрын
Never seen a bear in that area. And I'd only recommend spray if you went in early spring. Otherwise just make plenty of noises because those bears are more afraid of us than we are of them.

Remember especially in Lima Peru the air quality is very poor every day. At a level of 53 most days breathing is compromised. Running is not a good idea and likely you won’t see the hills outside of town as they will be shrouded in smog. Arequipa and smaller places like Cusco and areas in the mountains etc are fine for breathing
@beasleyfinds2 ай бұрын
Yes that's a great point. I can't imagine my wife growing up breathing all that smog but she did. I do prefer the more mountainous areas but she prefers Lima to a certain extent

Being a born and raised Peruvian living in US, I can honestly say I would not move to Peru unless I'm out of Lima and out of their surroundings... Lima is saturated.. been there for a month long just recently and I can say that the traffic and people no respecting anything PLUS the insecurity... makes a recipe for not wanting to comeback... I would if at least the insecurity is somehow controlled or under some kind of security... until then NAH is a hard pass maybe someone else find it attractive but being from there, is a hard pass for me... I will go to do business and make an extra income but other than that NAH....
@beasleyfinds3 ай бұрын
Yeah my wife grew up in Lima and loves to visit but I don't think she would want to live there again. I enjoyed my time traveling around Cusco and the Sacred Valley. I like the mountains more than the coastal areas. If I were to live there a while, that's where it would be. Thanks for your honest thoughts.

@beasleyfinds4 ай бұрын
My wife is also from Lima. I've been around the country a bit. I understand your perspective. I am from NE USA but have been all around USA as well. I would just say that comparing USA to Peru is not as useful considering how much more developed USA is than Peru. A more fair comparison would be between other south or central American countries
@maryannwaters3393 ай бұрын
Lima is filthy and often dangerous, unless you live amongst, "pitucos." Outside of: Barranco, Miraflores, San Isidro, Surco, La Molina (Las Casuarinas, La Planicie, San Borja, Camacho, Rinconada), Cieneguilla, Jesus Maria, Magdalena, your typical American could not adapt. Even San Miguel, La Punta, Callao would be slumming it.
