Awesome. I just too a 6,000 suv camping trip and used a 12 Volt electric blanket. It drew 40 to 50 watts and worked great. The 12 volt is a little bit smaller blanket, so the full size one will be nice if you have the power for it. Cool seeing the bears from a distance!

I’ve been down this road before and the fact is you should always tighten down the bolt and put just a little bit of oil in the threads because if you leave the boat loose, it’s gonna wear on the Connor pen, if the pin goes, then it gets loose then you’re screwed

Bro, I feel like the elephant in the room is being ignored. You have a million windows in your van. How do you expect to stay warm with all of those big windows uncovered? Cover your windows with some thermal fabric, and I'm sure you'll be warmer in the winter. I know this is a year old video, but if you still are still riding around with those uncovered windows, you need to cover them up to stay warm. ❤

You might want to try filling up some 2L bottles with some really warm water and placing them under your cover, one on your backside, and you won't have to use any battery power at all, just a little suggestion for you

Nice video. Thanks for explaining the path to the roof . Can’t believe Cali sells lights that don’t come with a harness to make it all the way to the battery for a roof rack that is vehicles specific It’s a shame that their vehicle specific light switch back lighting is way brighter than the stock lighting Look into a product called Tesa Tape for dressing all those wires. It’s the fabric OEM tape the manufacturers use and it holds up well in the engine bay.

For the power wiring to the light bar, the harness has Green White Black. What connects to the Red, White, and Black wires that come out of the Light Bar? Having trouble finding this information.
@RileyMonthule
@RileyMonthule 9 күн бұрын
They connect together but i forget in which way. The diagram should be on caliraised website for the interior switch you have. Make sure to test it before you solder anything and try different orientations if it doesn't work. You can also call Cali Raised customer service or email for help. There team is actually in the US and super knowledgeable. Good luck with it!

@@RileyMonthule I found a good visual @ 18:05 of the video, Looks like you did from the light bar to the wiring harness, Red to White, White to Green, and then Black to Black.

Electric blankets are clutch in the winter for either a drafty house or car camping. One time I slept in my Honda pilot outside of my friends house during the winter because he has kids that wake up super early and make a ton of noise plus I kinda wanted to see how cozy I could make it with my super thick mattress topper. I plugged the blanket into the side of the house and used it inside of a very insulating sleeping bag and it was 👌 I wonder how much these blankets would kill a jackery in 8 hrs.

It's great! With the movable air dam up the wind noise is almost gone, still more than a stock truck with no rack of course but not bad at all especially for a rack with such a big light bar. Every truck I've been in with a rack and light bar combo has been louder which makes sense because none of them have the full coverage air dam.

Im a Semi truck driver, most electric blankets pull too much power for the inverter my company provides. The small ones they sell at some truck stops specially made to work from cigarette lighter plugs do work great, youll still want another blanket over them to keep the warm in though.

Quality on Sunbeam blankets have gone down the shiiter. The fabric is that cheap stuff you make cheap flimsy Chinese toys and thin wires inside. What happened to the brushed cotton electric blankets that were ACTUAL BLANKETS?

always add a reflective element to your sleeping gear: either an emergency blanket or even use a silver reflective sun screen made for the windshield! There is no need for plug ins. if it's super cold lay it directly beneath you inside your bedding so it radiates your body heat back to you (and up). If it's not that cold, put it underneath one or more layers that you lay on top of. You will still get the benefits, although less strong, which is what you want. I even will put it underneath a sleeping bag and it makes it more comfortable and cozy. It does amazing in damp weather keeping you less concerned with the humidity and add comfortability in your set up. It must be underneath you so it radiates up. try it! it works.
