Top tip: use a shorter socket. It will help transfer more of the impact to the bolt and keep the socket on the bolt. You should only use sockets and extension when you need to and go short when you can.

Thanks for the vid. Was lazy and didn't read my service manual. Have '08 LGT and '17 STI. The legacy has tensioners for both belts.. The STI no. I bought the Gates tool 91031 since it would arrive the quickest. A 5 minute job with the tool. Helpful vid.👍

If your level is full, and getting The Check Coolant Level messsge, either have the surge tank replaced, or the free way “ if you have no leaks”. Take a screwdriver and tap around the bottom of the surge tank. It will go off. It will come back on randomly when it’s stuck, but it’s free.

I’m new to this cluster due to helping my father in law and something I’ve learned about them is they’re very fragile. A lot of solder points break . Check the solder where the harness connects and everywhere. If all else fails there’s places that’ll restore your cluster for like 70 bucks ! Good luck

great vid, man! gave me the confidence to do this myself!! do you have thoughts on how GM gas gauges specifically can be calibrated as accurately as possible? (i never believed the gauge previously, as I am not the orig owner and if always seemed to show higher than the digital readout because i ran out of gas several times! ;) )

Useful video, thanks for posting. Notes of caution to thers: check you have the belt routed correctly with reference to the tool and look for a decent quality tool, like in the video, which has a rounded edge to feed the belt on to the A/C pulley. I used a Chinese version, cut from aluminium plate, and it damaged the edge of the belt.

Beautiful car my dude. I would LS swap or BBC swap transmission swap. I have a 72 buick electra 2door HT with a 496stroker. My opinion, it's frustrating how hard it is to find proformance parts for my 455 rocket 🚀 and limitations in modifications. So I decided to motor swap. 455 to a 496stroker 400turbo to a 40L80. She sitting on forgiatos 6s. It's on my Facebook page and instagram.

TooMany Tools - Have you ever noticed that ALL KZbin video screens are HORIZONTAL? Your phones may be "smart", but not nearly enough. Same for their owners.

Did you know that it's much more difficult to work and hold a phone horizontally? Imagine being such a miserable person that you feel the need to try to knock somebody down for helping others. I gain nothing from video besides possibly helping somebody else. I could have set this car on fire by sheer stupidity, and it would have not been nearly as dumb as being a yt troll who bashes people's videos because the screen doesn't for his preference. I know my words might sound rude, but I'm sure you are already a miserable person, so there's not much I can do to make you feel worse.

I guess stretch belts do save the added weight and cost of a tensioner. But then there is the cost of the tool to install the belt. A 1-cent zip tie threaded through the pulley hole and zipped tight against the belt will accomplish the same thing though.

Well, it appears that 'Occam's Razor' (commenter below) has decided to baffle us with condescending bullshit. So much for the simplest explanation, eh dude? Let me try: You gotta keep it square on the nut, and using a shorter socket helps with that. See? Simple. TMT obviously knows that, because he kept squaring-up the best impact socket he had between rounds. So whatever on you, OR. Anyway, I bought a Power Bar too, on the 'Car Wizard's' recommendation. In fact, you can buy one from his Amazon store. Plus, he used one in a 'Hoovie's Garage' video and it worked like a charm. Unfortunately, it was a minor side-note in the video, and not fully shown or explained. I suspect it's the angle between the two arms that is the key, and I'm off to find out if I can.

Thanks for the video. I spent a lot of time looking at videos from real users of these tools versus the talking heads that simply open the box. I’m glad yours are holding it. I just picked up a used impact and drill off of Craigslist but with only one battery. What do you think about those cheapy aftermarket batteries? I might try some and see how they go. Thanks again for the review video.

It works just fine, you just lack motor-coordination. You kept twisting "off-plane." If there was a circle intending from the center of the crack pulley nut at 90 degrees (simply put; same plane as the harmonic balancer. Just "enlarged" to the length of the PowerBar's arm) and whose diameter is the length of the arm on the PowerBar, you had the PowerBar "inserted" at a few degrees off-plane, which would result in the socket slipping of the nut when the rotation reached "apogee" (or aphelion. Depending on whether you prefer the Sun or Moon being the basis for the analogy XD)
