Thank you! I'll watch this every time I see it. They handed the torch to Michael, and he elevated the NBA. But Larry and Magic saved it. One hundred percent. The game was going down before they arrived, and it was something really special to watch. It was a great time to be alive.

I don't know if you've seen the vid yet but the basketball legends would rather guard jordon over bird.

Bird scored 19 points in this championship game set a record for free throws and played with a fractured thumb that he fractured playing against Arkansas razorbacks. In which he had a monster game. So for bird this was not his best game. He had an amazing block and some great passes but he didn't have a game up to his standards. Bird and magic were the greatest players you watch. They made the nba exciting. Great reaction ❤Larry and magic saved the nba and Mj took it global. You should watch 1992 dream team documentary

It's hard to rate basketball players (and chess players) across different spans of time, because the new guys can study the moves of the previous generation. "How'd he do that? What was that move there? How'd he see that coming? Let me try that." Did they learn that because they're the best players ... or because they're the best students, who had film they could refer to? Some people wouldn't put Bird in their top 5 of all time. That's fine. There could be guys since then who were or are physically better than prime Bird, or who had flashier physical gifts or better career stats (and there were back in the day, too). But those guys still owe a lot to Larry Legend, because he was playing that style of game in the 80s. He was doing things you just didn't *do* back then, making other players look foolish. And he didn't learn it watching film, he learned it shooting hoops with the Black players working at a hotel in his home town. He got it by *doing it.*

Jordan would average 50 per game today. No hand checking and the rules make it so there is no Defense. Check out Jordan "One of the best defenders ever "...

When he fell hard to the floor and broke his cheekbone, the team doctor told him he couldn't play the rest of the game and Larry snuck out of the locker room to rejoin his team. Larry was also very generous with his teammates by getting them the ball and letting them shine by getting in shots. Great video.

One of the best documentaries I've ever seen. I'm a Bird fan but have always respected what Magic brought to the game. Just subscribed. I wish more young people were willing to look into this history.

Hey kids, embrace the 80's values- hard work, dedication, selff control, being humble, willing to improve and last but nit least respect. That is all you need to bring NBA back to that level you've just witnessed. Those legends are still there for you- Larry, Magic, MJ, Kareem, Malone... man the list is so long.Ask questions and watch and copy paste.God bless!!!

Why are they giving so much space? For the same reason they give steph so much space today. Smart shooters know how to move off the ball and make defenders forget about them for a second. They create their own openings.

Larry Bird greatest small forward of all time. I have a question for the young folks. How can you look at a few years of NBA and think you have seen the greatest player of 70 years of NBA Totally ridiculous. I have Larry 5th all time. There are only 2 players that qualify for GOAT. Mike and Wilt. Aliens. Both 48 inch vertical. Mike 4.3 40 . Wilt 4.4 . Wilt bench press 500lbs . 7'2" with 7' 11" wingspan. 72 NBA records. Never fouled out of a game in his whole. The year he avg 50 points and 25 rebounds he played all but 6 minutes of the whole season. He got ejected. Too fast. Too strong. Jump to high. Can you imagine a tick slower than Mike and 7'2". Aliens

Check this out. At 38 years old Kareem was MVP of the NBA finals. At 40 years old he won ring 6 . when Magic won finals MVP rookie year, Kareem was MVP of the NBA. Media hype. Top 3 all time scoring rebounds and blocks. He might be under rated.
