It's going through a MASSIVE rewrite at the moment, but I'm confident it'll be killer by the time you get your hands on it. I'm looking at a March 15, 2025 release for that.

My 2nd novel is going to launch in March in paperback, hardcover and Kindle all on KDP only. I've never considered the pre-launch route. Can you point me to any video you've posted on how to implement a pre-launch on KDP? Thanks for all your help.

Oh, wow! Big congrats to you! I was pleasantly surprised to be featured on the shortlist. It's even cooler to hear I'm in good company. Although, I'll admit I wish I won the championship belt. haha It's literally why I entered for the award. haha I guess there's always next year (or actually this year).

Pls my account was terminated on Amazon kdp. They wrote to me thrice and i didn't 'respond because we did not see there mails early. Any hope for me in self publishing? Discouragef.

Great session and happy new year! Although I would not endorse typos, I think we should at least do the mental exercise of foreseeing a day when we compete with AIs by introducing errors on purpose. That could play out in a variety of ways for humans to try and signal that their books are human... (Whatever human means in the Philip K. Dick Eternal Now...)

Well stated! I had a couple of viewers once accuse me of using AI to generate the books under my name. Even though I did a video about how to use AI to generate a book, it wasn't for my name. When people read my books, they get the warts and all! haha Always great hearing from you, Anthony!

How amazing is this? I just typed in "novel book launch," and here it is-uploaded less than three hours ago! It was fantastic to watch, and I truly appreciate all the invaluable tips and tricks you shared. I've been successfully publishing for over ten years now, and while much of what you mentioned is familiar to me, I must admit-I rarely put it into practice. My books used to sell well even without a big launch strategy, but those days are over. I'm so glad I found your channel; now I can finally start focusing on launch strategies instead of just writing. Thank you for the inspiration!

I've been with book baby for my first ebook since 2012. I published my print book with Amazon. I feel Amazon doesn't like that I didn't go through them. I'm thinking I want to get my ebook back and republish on Amazon. Book Baby sells most of my books through versa and I only get like 28 cents for most of my books. Only when Amazon sells my book do I get $2.87.

Thanks Dale...am new to lulu printing and found too many sites did not express the basics like you! CHEERS!!! Have had 50+ years in offset printing and photography and tops on my bucket list is to publish my photo-book about my time as a soldier in South Vietnam. This is not a "bang-bang shoot em up" book it explains mostly in photos "the Good we did in South Vietnam". My desire to publish in 2025 now seems in reach. Cheers again!!!

Question. Does Bookvault accept returns from retailers and brick & mortar stores? We all know how it's really hard to work with ingramspark and it would be nice to have an alternative to getting books onto physical shelves.

Bookvault doesn't have returns enabled (to my knowledge).

@selfpubwithdale Yeah, I finally found that on their site. But I did think of something else. Ingramspark is a book distributer first, not a self-publishing house. I wonder what their other direct competitors are doing and if there are other self-publishing platforms or distributors that do accept retail returns for POD books? As you know, it's the dream of self-publishing authors to get their books onto store shelves. Ingramspark can't be the only way to do that.

I had some issues a month or two ago and reached out to support. They helped solve some of my issues. Give that a shot. Don't try grinding it out, because it MIGHT not be what you're doing that's causing the issues.

Problems with accessing Andy's website and other pages - when I click the link (or search for him on Instagram) the results say there's a problem with this domain, or this site is not secure.

The problem for people who are not in the US and not American citizens is that dealing with these American companies means you must also deal with the American Internal Revenue Service: you are trapped into that labyrinthine paperwork, and if your own country does not have a setup with the IRS your chances of getting any revenue are remote. Amazons KDP, for instance, is therefore a black hole. America should realise that it is only one of over 200 countries...

Their game, we're just playing in it. If it's too much trouble, go fully independent and build your business without them. You're not forced into anything, so why not consider doing it on your own?
