You would think that the pirating website has a digital footprint that could be followed by a tech pro. Even emails or access to update the website should have at least an IP address.

Thanks for another great video. I must get on your ARC team for Networking With Authors. Congrats on the Pulitzer nomination too. That's freakin' awesome! KDP may have its issues but at least they have a chat option. I also publish with D2D and have found that they're very slow to reply to emails. They were already slow in replying, but now what used to take 12 to 18 hours to respond to a query, now almost takes 48 hours, which is unacceptable in my opinion. I understand that they receive a lot of queries but nearly 48 hours is quite ridiculous to wait for an answer. They could really do with a chat option on their site as well. Look, I've worked on the customer service side with Amazon so I know how chaotic it can get and new trainees really do have a tough time fitting in and learning the ropes, but like I said, almost 48 hours for a reply is bad.

OMG I would have killed for this customer service addition when I first started self-publishing. KDP was a horrific experience as a new author trying to figure out the system, making mistakes, etc. There was no one to turn to. No customer support, no forums, nothing. I'm glad they have finally joined the 21st century. As far as the pirating website, I know AI is the black sheep in the author community, but maybe this is one area where AI could help track down those pirates and help authors get back some of the money they are owed. That would be a bit ironic, the tool that was created by pirating authors work is then used to catch pirates and pay the authors. There's a beautiful, tragic symmetry there.

Loved your video dale. Can you give the solution of book blocking. It seems their bots are blocking my book after updating/new book. I have contacted to them but their answer is the poor customer experience thing. What am i missing?

See if you can have three or four peers to review your book. Have them look over the cover, the content, the description, everything. Beyond that, I'm at a loss because I don't know the quality of work you're producing.

Get ahold of KDP Support through the Contact Us link in the bottom of your dashboard. Use phone support or live chat support. The email support might not be very helpful.

Thank you for the video Dale that is great information; such great news about Amazon KDP...at least now if indie-authors have a problem they can now contact them direct. Btw Dale just a small question to ask: there were 2 videos you did about front-cover designs one of them was Book Brush but before that you did another company which also offers the free option (like Book Brush does). Which one is it because I forgot & I had been going through past videos to see which one it is.

Hmmm, maybe Canva??? PhotoPea is a free knockoff version of Photoshop. Maybe that? I'm not sure right now. Have you ever looked into Derek Murphy's free resource, DIY Book Covers. I think it's a dot com site, don't quote me on that. But, he legit gives SO much value in the free course and resources he provides. The dude shows you how to make covers with Microsoft Word (I'm sure you could use the same structure with any doc software).

The phone option is there, but is limited to certain regions. If you're in the US, you should be able to get it. Some query options they have won't allow for the phone support, so change your query and you might get that option. Otherwise, use the Live Chat Support and have them walk you through it.

The new support page is annoying. It just highlights how useless they are, rather than having the issue resolved. Mine shows as waiting for customer response, but the last two messages were from me, weeks apart, asking what is happening.
