Dragon quest monsters?

DQ2 is absolutely not garbage or anything close to that. The game came out like 9 months after the first game and was a massive leap forward in pretty much every regard regardless of any difficulty spikes or a few cryptic item locations. Having just finished the game on nes a few days ago I can’t help but feel this game is quite overhated. Frankly, I don’t think there’s a single mainline DQ game that’s objectively bad, but DQ2 in particular gets dogpiled especially unfairly

There is not a single sentence in this that addresses censorship. There are a lot of sentences explaining it, excusing it, justifying it, but addressing it? None. Addressing it would require you to view the change as a problem, and it takes less than 5 minutes to see that you are at best neutral about it, at worst completely on board with it.

For DQ 1 ... I know that this is probably extremly controversial and wont happen but, you are alone the whole time so i wouldn't mind action Combat tbh.

I agree. It doesn't bother me at all I personally don't care for the censoring that much the gameplay is there and that's why I buy these games. Though I must say the Body Type A and B was kinda hard to understand cause the sprites look very much the same and I couldn't see a gender. Maybe that was even the intention.

This will never happen, but i would love for DQ1 to have a monster companion so it’d have more like a “boy and his dog” type of feel… it’d still be solitary but slightly more exciting. Never gonna happen!

Nah man the og was T for teen they chose to change it because they chose to want to have the game slide into the E category to sell more. Well everyone who played it as a kid who couldn't buy it themselves would go iut and buy in droves for nostalgia they'd still sell way more than the og and first remake. Also stateside parents get their children gtaV...the game would have sold regarldess. Hoping someone mods it to be "unchanged" soon. The "wrecking ball" instead of magic bomb is so stupid. It's not just costume changes and body a/b. The original dialog was gender neutral in the beginning and now it just has to say she, im not bothered it says she im bothered it's not really a "remake" it's more "revised"

there was no economically valid reason for not porting this game to PS4, if you already ported it to PS5. The PS4 install base is still huge and, apart from myself, I know personally others who have not bought the PS5 yet because they do not see the value in it. Square made simply a big "favor" to Sony, accepting the clear financial loss of not selling on PS4. Lets also keep in mind that this game sells mostly on Switch, people who have a PS5 generally dont care about 2D-HD. So we are not talking about huge numbers when it comes to Sony consoles.

Yes prince of Cannock needs to be huffed but the one thing that even would have made the NES version better is making the Zoom spell let you choose your destination. This one thing would have made all the difference.
