Was this musical sample done in standard? I was trying to copy the chord shapes and they don't sound quite right.

Great video! Always wanted to make my own pickups, I remember way back as a kid seeing an Instructable I think where someone maid a pair from a ruler! Excited to see where you go in your pickup journey!

I used to have a candy apple red Japanese Jaguar from the 90s. I named her Kara but have never named another guitar .I think that's going to change now though 😂

wow great job. I just picked up a new MIJ mustang too. I most likely won't do your full mod but I may just change the pick ups with some rails.

I was at the music experience in Seattle in 2009. I believe was a Jazz Master hanging in a case or on the wall that Jimmi used. Kinda cool seeing you do an upgrade.

I like what Keith Richards said when changing guitars, "Give me 15 minutes and I will sound like myself." I think the player is more influential on the sound more than the guitar. Guitar types like solid body vs arch top vs acoustic would have more of an impact on sound. Once you find "your sound" you will gravitate more towards similar guitars overall.

Very tasteful playing. Great video!

This is a great project! Curious as to why you went for a push/pull pots in the tone when a 4 way switch could give you the series/parallel option?🤔

Attention to detail and listening/watching the player, the feel and playability). No doubt you will excel! Rock on!

Very nice! I too played the week before EVERYTHING shut down back in 2020 (at the Rebel Lounge which was just recognized as the best small venue in the world). That was just me on my 1972 beat to hell Yamaha acoustic. My usual open mic rig is two guitars (ones a back up) and my Vox VT 30 and doing pretty much a Billy Bragg style set of usually three songs. So its fun and I miss playing out. Hello from Phoenix!🏜️👍✨

The world always needs better pickups. Get some Michael Gray Strat handwound pickups and study them....outstanding tone! Lollar pickups are amazing too! Great source to learn! Great video ...thank you! That was so nice for Kevin to show you. He has super steady hands...always a plus.

Here's a little tip for anyone who solders and uses a stand to hold the wire. On both sides of the alligator clip take a piece of shrink tub and place it over the alligator clip. Do both of them and then shrink the tube. What this does is stop the metal clips from going into the side of your wire and possibly causing a short. It doesn't matter if you have a high-end model or a low end model they all need this done. I really enjoyed your video. I always like watching other people who do their own work. There's always something to learn from somebody. I learned that lesson long ago. I most definitely gave you a thumbs up and I hit the subscribe button I'm also looking forward to watching more from you.

I like that cream TV yellowish color, I see a Tele and an Epiphone hollow body, that is 66% of all one needs with guitars.

As I approach my EPIC rebuild project on me very own MIM Jazzmaster, with it's great sounding P-90's disguised as Fenders' er/uh and if that ain't bad enuff, I'm totally and utterly distracted by you, girl, as my deteriorating brain continues to malfunction... (I reside in glamorous picturesque Koreatown, Los Angeles if you ever wanna JAM...) Thanx for the vid and Cheerios

Hi, I'm wondering if you can help, I'm building 2 HHH Jazz guitar's using a stratocaster, I will be using Lace fusion jazz 251 in the neck and bridge location with a 10 way switch, any suggestions on a Humbucker for the middle position, or if you created a Humbucker that I can place in the middle position, I wouldn't mind purchasing them from you.the Lace fusion jazz 251 Humbucker set, 5.0k & 6.1k, awaiting your feed back, Nisebelle

You knocked it out of the park, Nise! It may have been Lollar's expertise that helped get you there, but it was your drive to learn and sorry, still gonna say selfless desire to restore the gear the fire robbed your brother of to make it happen. Perhaps you should consider adding a Jazzmaster to your own arsenal? You're getting some amazing tones out of it, and I'm sure conversion necks can be had if you want to stick to short scale.
