Dave, from Utah here. Thank you all for the excellent well wishes, waking up after that surgery to find this video waiting for me REALLY brought my spirits up. Last year we had to postpone surgery due to finances, but last Monday they found my tumor had grown almost a full centimeter, so we went with it and according to the doc we hopefully got it all! Thanks again everyone, especially Mick, for the shout out and the good vibes!

Can't you get the offcuts from your stovejack and patch the hole up. Maybe there's some heat resistant glue or maybe another stove jack.

A bit late now, but generally speaking, you should break in a new stove by starting with a very small fire, and subsequent ones should be progressively bigger over, say, the next 3 burns or so. That’s definitely the case with a cast iron stove, and was with my titanium firebox. With cast iron, expansion then the cast iron cracking is the issue; with titanium, and possibly stainless steel, it’s warping that’s the issue. It certainly looks a dinky little stove, £40 is an absolute bargain…… if it works ok (not watched the whole video yet, so…🙏😬😁)
