I'm reaching out good, sir. Because I need to do the same on my 2011. I'm asking do you need anything to hold the motor up with a Jack? As long as you do it to 2 a time or use a Jack to hold the motor up if trying to do all 4 or do them in pairs cause i figured the other mounts hold it in place while changing them
@89G12 сағат бұрын
@jsb2cute I've done it both ways. A jack with a 2X4 across the entire oil pan definitely makes it easier. Just remember you are supporting it, no need to lift it unless your jack bleeds off, of course. Thank you... great question!

I've used Motorcraft exclusively since 1984. The last one I bought (FL-820s) had huge black glue chunks peeling off of it, and half of the louvers were only partially open because they weren't punched properly all the way through. In addition, there were metal shavings caught in the threads of the base plate. So after being a loyal Motorcraft customer for over 40 years, their non-existant quality control and inability to produce a quality product has convinced me to switch to Microgard Select. The build quality of these filters compared to Motorcraft is like night and day.
@89G4 күн бұрын
Wow, that's such a shame. The quality sounds like it's getting worse. It's really sad that Motorcraft/Ford seems content with what is going on.

It runs extremely rough.
@89G5 күн бұрын
Oh dear... once that fuel is up there in the fuel rails, it's hard to get it right again. Hopefully you can get the tank drained, put fresh fuel in it, and it will clear up. I wish I was closer too, I love trying to figure out battery drain problems. The most common issue that I see on the Fox Body is a bulb that is staying on. That is most commonly the vanity lights in the sun visors, and the glove box is next.

What do you think about Mobil 1 vs purolator filters ? (I use full synthetic Mobil 1 oil currently and change every 5k miles) The purolator one (blue can) which Walmart doesn’t sell anymore is similar price to Mobil 1 filters at Walmart. Even on Amazon the purolator tech is 9$ and some change so debating between purolator one blue can priced at roughly 11$ and Mobil one at 11.50$ or go all out and get the purolator boss at 15$. just wondering your opinion, thanks. I know it’s my money and my truck etc but doesn’t hurt to hear your honest opinion if you think 5$ more for the best of the best filter is better option or just stick with the 11$ ones.

I've not taken apart a Mobil filter yet, but have seen pics inside. From the pics, I don't think either one is a bad filter. A stock A9L computer is set to 672rpm's for a manual and 672 idle and 624 in drive with an automatic so setting your idle at 50rpm's your IAC wont even be used for maintaining idle.....It will be all throttle blade or Tom Brady screw as you call it... The way I set the idle is I set my idle to 600 rpm's which gives 72 rpm's of idle drop for the IAC to cover and for the adaptives to learn alot quicker.......If you set the idle to where it barely idles then the idle will swing that low................... Another thing about setting the idle at 600 if you have a manual and you granny shift the idle wont drop much below 600............. Instead of twisting the distributor to advance timing and gain power I make myself an octane rod thats is tad shorter than the rod that sets and locks the halls effect trigger in place...........I usually go with one thats roughly 2 degrees advanced..
