You're amazing to go out solo, I wish I could do that. I have to wait for others, someone to go with.

Thank you for teaching. ❤ I have one hen and 2 males. The males do the dance but I never seen them mate and no eggs laid yet. They are 8 months old.

You should have just strained it the first time.. and you wouldn't need to cook it again.

@calholli Yes we made a mistake in the video.. we strain it the first time moving forward on our candles now.. thanks

I'm struggling to get my deer tallow candles to burn well with commercial wicks after experimenting with different sizes and materials. Are you using baler twine?
@maritimeacreshomestead2 ай бұрын
Hi, we use jute twine.
@chloeandchanel7046Ай бұрын
Square braided cotton wicks is what Google claims is best for deer tallow candles. Make sure you get an appropriate wick thickness for your candles- the bigger (width) the candle, the thicker the wick needed :)

So cute!! How old are they? My 4 are 5 weeks and want out of their brooder pen (about a 6 x 10 area) so bad but I still have heat lamps around for them (still cool at night low 40s in NW Montana). Was hoping to let them out in a week or 2. Is 6-7 weeks old enough to start free ranging?

The method of smoking is kind of lacking and out of cycle. The smoking should be done after the breaking.. to smoke you make a tube out of the hide and suspend over the smoke.. there is a bit more to it but in short break then smoke
