I use a huge beach towel over almost half the ray and it covers the entire tail and barb. But not to be attempted by the feint of heart.

South Mississippi native and fished all over South Louisiana. Pointe aux Chenes is hands down my favorite place to fish. Hope to see some new videos in the near future, man.

My buddy got stung in the arm and ended up in the hospital. His arm was in a sling for a month. And it was only a small ray.
@jacobmcvay1234 ай бұрын
I usually use half a shrimp body/tail on one hook with a mini cut of shrimp fish bite on the hook as well to hold the bait in place while exposing barb. Then on other hook I use the head/body half of shrimp with same mini fish bite shrimp cut and I literally hook up non stop on whiting, jacks, etc without ever being near structure. Just my local beach access with open ocean. Half a shrimp w a shrimp fish bite piece on each hook on a double hook bottom sinker leader, is the ultimate surf fishing bait. Haven’t found anything better.

Just got a PA12. Are they really that stable for offshore. Heard they rock a lot and Outback’s are preferable for they type of fishing. Ever capsize?
@KayakingKennedy9 ай бұрын
The PA is considerably more stable than the outbacks, I have both and can tell you from experience. A lot of people prefer the outback over the pa for offshore mainly for the difference in weight and the OB cuts through waves and chop better. I have flipped my pa 2 times in 8 years, one time was a ship wake and one time I dropped a rod in and leaned way too far over.

Thanks for getting back to me so rapidly! I appreciate that because I’m excited for the yak but was thrown off from all the comments Ive sent in the forums. Even considered getting the sidekicks for the PA. I understand I’d have to modify them but on my Passport they were awesome. Do you think they’d be of advantage on the PA? Or possibly the Amas would make it more dangerous with the swells? Thanks again!

I met kayaking kennedy at Beach Bum Outdoors and he helped me with just about everything i need to start surf fishing. He was nice and informative and even helped my dad and I to pick out some shark rigs. I highly recommend his channel and going to Beach Bum Outdoors in Gulf Shores Alabama

This is a joke ive been trying to tie this knot for 3 hours and all i get is a mess
@leftycosta1899 Жыл бұрын
As many mentioned this is the surgeons knot. I wouldn't use it for mahi or wahoo but I've caught some nice bull reds off of it and have never had an issue. The only negative is you cannot tie it with hooks or crank baits at the other end.
