Personally, I always treated the distance counter as my goal. The game prominently shows how far you've traveled away from the tower, so that might as well be the official goal of the game. So I did: I tried getting as fast as possible. And what resulted was actually a pretty cool game. Not only did I discover a whole bunch of new biomes I hadn't seen before but the game also got harder and harder, forcing me to upgrade my arsenal in turn. Eventually, when I got far enough, the biomes I had been walking through before started to appear again, only backwards in order. I always wondered what would await me beyond the edges of the outer starter biome. And the answer was quite shocking to 13 year old me. I think this way of playing really is what suits this game well since the horrible building mechanics don't really affect it too much, only becoming necessary when you wanna take a break to craft stuff for your travels. And its strongest point, the exploration and atmosphere really shines.

Dude me and my friends would play hours of this games messing around getting blood diamond laser weapons and making huge ass. Fortresses.

Whenever I visit old maps, there's a certain sense of sadness to them, when you realize that at one time these were all busy places with lots of players, then one day, the last person logged off.....and never returned to that world, leaving it frozen in time.

I tried it and... different weathers and seasons feel AWESOME, so well integrated. It's seamless, fits the mod vision, fits the beta aesthetic... Minecraft needs this, seriously.

Maybe the villagers should have guards which sees if a player is exploiting villagers, if so, they'll attack us. Iron golems for protection against mobs only. The villagers shouldn't trade with players after they spread their stories about the player. It gives the player more challenges
