I may not be the average consumer, but the only reason my expectations are erudite is because marketing is ridiculous! Apple didn't majestic a huge investment in developing AI, remember, they decided to outsource. All they can offer are features. Welcome back, guys! I love all of Deaton Street's videos and content!!

You've got rose colored glasses. The first iPhone was laughable trash compared to the alternatives available at the time. It lacked basic features like copy/paste, for example. It was only later that it became something useful for people other than fanboys.

I understand the ethical concerns, but some of the comments seem exaggerated. We're discussing small clusters of cells, not Skynet. Ethical guidelines are necessary, but we shouldn't get so caught up in hypothetical situations that we hinder potentially life-changing advancements. This technology could lead to solutions for climate change, disease, and more. We should proceed with caution, but not be completely hesitant. Let's allow the research to continue!

I had combined cordyceps fungus and gamma radiation, which I then took. That genetically altered me, and made me aware of genetic Recombination... I then wrote instructions, on how to take cordyceps, and some other things, and my blood, which then are irradiated, until the dna is damaged. Then, organic nanobots that I created (adaptogen), and have recipies for, are added to that, which recombines the DNA. But the soul, which is tangible and real, stays with the now mutated DNA/mycelium network... So it becomes like a brain, but its not at all similar. Its an entirely new organ that lives in a ecosystem that i designed, which is specifically designed to send and recieve electric signals. Like a microchip.
@bread_wagongrom78394 ай бұрын
To me, the idea of giving a modicum of our brains to then integrate it Into a virtual environment is almost analogous to the idea of us all being a part of a God that we don't even know exists. It's quite ontologically unsettling.

AI is too unreliable to be depended on for anything. I find these modela confidently incorrect much of the time. It's just a toy and can't be used for any serious applications. AI is no better than sophisticated propaganda to be honest.

Cant comment on the catfood example, but if you are talking with friends about a product and one of them does a search of that product, it could be tracing it back to you because of a shared ip address, and not involve active listening. But it would seem to you that it could only have been active listening.

you guys missed the point of this competly, the product is more for remote workflows, it lets you send you content back for proxie editing right away. This is going to be extreamly usful for anyone who has to contribut content from the field. or to social media streaming. for my use the iphone would become a production tool not my main phone.

The best of both worlds should be i think 1 . Pay xyz amount for lifetime + extra incase of update 2. Pay monthly payment for subscription but after paying for a certain period of time you own the software (example like if lifetime cost of software is150$ and if you do monthly subscription cost is 10$/month so after paying for 2 years (24X10=240$) YOU'LL OWN THE SOFTWARE) its best of both worlds

This is NOT a gimmick. As a professional traveler for 35 years living for days on end in hotels sleep aids like this are essential! I have tried them all. I recently backed the ozlo’s and they have been utterly fantastic until the left bud has begun to have problems. Ozlo is very responsive and are working to sort it out. In the meantime I have to have a replacement. Both versions of bose don’t function any longer and the kokoons behind the neck design aren’t the best. So I purchased the A20’s as a temporary replacement and am very pleased so far. Extremely comfortable. The onboard sounds aren’t high fidelity enough for me but there are lots of sound apps and youtube that have fantastic quality sounds. I hope they last!

Useless? Time for you to talk to a few renowned scientists successfully using AI models in scientific/medical research, and you talk differently, some of the results are astonishing already. Google: "AI improves accuracy of skin cancer diagnoses in Stanford Medicine-led study" "AI Discovers the Quantum Code: Revolutionizing Chemistry" "AI discovers new class of antibiotics to kill drug-resistant bacteria" "Google AI discovers 2.2 million new materials for a host of technologies" "AI discovers over 27,000 overlooked asteroids in old telescope images" "AI discovers new drugs that could save millions of lives - and Big Pharma’s time" "Scientists discover the first new antibiotics in over 60 years using AI" "New AI tool discovers realistic 'metamaterials' with unusual properties" etc...the list is endless. AI is lot more than just the few chatbots you tried. You remind me of the ignorant people that I grew up with in the 70's and 80's who saw no use for computers...

@Col_Crunch5 ай бұрын
I like how JetBrains (the makers of IDEs like IntelliJ, PyCharm, etc) handle their sales. You can buy a version of the software outright (technically it is still a subscription, but a yearly plan automatically grants a fallback license, so you can pay and immediately cancel renewal and be good to use the software forever), or do a subscription. For every year that you have the subscription you are granted a perpetual fall back license to the latest version for that year. So if the latest version is 2022.2 when you hit the 1 year mark you will always have access to that version. Then the longer you have the subscription the cheaper it gets, and not in the "pay 3 months at a time and save some money" sense but in the "you have been subscribed for x months, have y% off from now on.", it maxes out at 40%. And sometimes they even apply offers for you.

Who is going to choose to be the one software supplier that has to keep their software updated and compatible on an ongoing basis without being paid on an ongoing basis for the work to do it, when all the other suppliers do? Paid = SAAS these days, otherwise, go with open source.

A long time ago, I bought Photoshop 4 in a bundle with Illustrator. At that time I didn't use it in my business but in the pure joy of being an artist. I think it was as a student rate of $350 and it was worth every penny. I never pirated a copy or passed on a copy. I did not buy every up-grade but I bought every other up-grade because that was all I could afford. My last copy was CS5 and Adobe gives a hard time just installing it, wanting proof of every PS I've ever owned, product key and customer pass words. I'm old now and just want to use in my leisure but it was individual artist that helped build Adobe Adobe is not alone. Increasingly these corporation are regarding their costumers as an exploitable resource.

Sarcasm side, we are paying more for things we still aren't allowed to own. Same goes for our computers, phones, etc. They decide how they will run, functions they feature, the size of the team to support them & when to pull the plug. A good case in point is the Spotify device that sold for $90 & they killed the service, bricking all of them. Then a car's sunroof that requires a subscription to operate... astoundingly ridiculous!! People fussed about having nothing to watch on 200+ TV channels, but all of "these" kinds of subscriptions are ruling our daily lives now & I guarantee they are, by design, only geared towards benefiting the company... NOT the consumer!
