I think the more durable a device is the less likely it will need to be repaired but shouldn’t prohibit the ability to do so.

There is weak rationality to say that the more durable something is, the less reparable it becomes. If you make the "shell" (or frame) of a phone durable, it should not prohibit the reparability of the components inside, as in, one part should NOT be soldered dead to other parts. With that said, reparability should also go hand-in-hand with upgradability. Soldering components together is a hindrance to that.
