The most key thing in toe jumps in flip and lutz especially that is forgotten by most nowadays, is that toe jumps are toe assisted , the take off and momentum going upwards is not completely dependent on the toe and picking leg . Whilst the toe is tapped into the ice , the gliding leg should also provide slight extension and push upwards after the knee bend to initiate the upward momentum and guide the body up while the toe finishes the job and gives that pole vault feeling ,remember, a pole vaulter also has to jump to go up . Together in good timing and coordination gives great height and power and also allows the toe pick to be tapped into the ice light and airy but firm. One last thing is that skaters should not depend too much on the edge to create rotation in a toe jump (unlike some skaters technique with really deep inside edge on the flip) .

Liza actually has proper jumping technique, as she’s not relying on her back and arms to get her into the air. She is relying on her legs (as you’re supposed to) for proper figure skating jumps. I love watching Kamila and Sasha skate but I really wish that they were taught proper jumping technique. There’s a reason why Eteri’s skaters don’t last long in the sport, and it’s because of the horrible jumping technique that she teaches them. Eteri’s girls could last longer in the sport, if she taught them to jump properly.

It is almost as though Shoma was never taught the textbook way to do the jump, but was explained how to produce the jump. The result is not disappointing, and is in fact amazing to behold. Of course some deductions for the non-textbook method is fair. It would be a loss had we saw less of Shoma competing.

1 Lutz-Trusova, and rest is the Loops, or whatever name is chose for that jump .Anna's jump is abomination.

All of the Russians fell on at least one of their jumps. They should have gotten 0 for those jumps they were not landed. And al it affected the flow of their performance, so their artistic score should have been less. Yet they did not get either of these things. The Russians deserve 0 Medals. For their cheating via drugs and overscoring. They all have the same doctor and methods of doping. Complete corruption. Everybody knows it. Russians have no moral at all. They can only win via Cheating. They don’t care, as long as they win. No thank you to your prerotated quads and bad lutz techniques and underrotated 3-3 combos.

Shcherbakova received a huge portion of mushrooms and a goe of + 5, and Sasha with the purest lutz, which cannot be said about anya lutz, received a + 0 goe from one judge. As for Camila. How did she get a +5 for a TRIPLE jump??? This is dirty and deceitful judging. Shame

Hanyu fans can say whatever about Nathan but one thing is a fact - he is an incredible technician. His technique is pitch perfect usually. That was an amazing quad lutz.
