All lutz jumps should be analyzed and scored afterwards by the technical panel. So that the difficulty of the jump can return instead of these funny flutz floop jumps
@fitgraphisva2 жыл бұрын
@Jeremy...I could not agree more. With all the current technology, the technical judge should be able to view all the angles we see at home. I am getting weary of seeing these skaters with crapacious technique get rewarded for terrible jumps (cough-cough-Shoma-4F-cough-cough).
@Jeremy-wp4yh2 жыл бұрын
@@fitgraphisva I agree shoma has a bad flip technique but I think the Russians are standing in the way of the ISU judging more strictly. If they follow the rules, they'll have to strip medvedeva of her titles and by the technical standards, she never beat Yuna Kim's record. So to cover up all the Russian corruption, they award some individual skaters.
@fitgraphisva2 жыл бұрын
@Jeremy...Yep...you hit the nail right on the head. The ISU just looks the other way as the "Eteri School of Horrendous Technique" takes over and becomes the gold (pun intended) standard.

Ahh check, Vincent’s was NOT short of rotation. The shadow of his foot can be seen on the ice but that’s not the same thing as his foot actually touching the ice. I have reviewed the tape several times and my call is that Vincent fully rotated that quad. Thank you.

I noticed that, too! Seriously, if technical controllers can’t correctly/consistently call q,
@EnzoFoove2 жыл бұрын
Yeah the 3T was actually much closer to being q than the 4Lz. I swear to god if they wanna keep underrotations as such a big deal, they need to implement an ELECTRONIC review system. It's a mathematical matter, it should be judged logically, not subjectively. Makes me so mad!

I think that Grassl's 4Lz was really 3Lz (3/4 prerotaion, lol). Men's jump like this with trash technique should be downgraded and had negative GOE from judges.

@rayneforresy6402 жыл бұрын
I mean if that's the case then ladies with their prerotated quads and atrocious techniques should be given the same treatment lol. Hell, men at least are consistent in the fact that most of them have problems in their quads. The thing is, prerotation and wrong techniques are such a can of worms that none of the feds and ISU would like to open. They'd call for time to time, but not always and tends to ignore if you come from a big fed. I mean Shoma is for an example, then we got morisi despite coming from a small he always got high scores. We men watchers always joked that he gets eteri points too 😂

@@aguy3664 TECHNICALLY there is a new rule coming that will penalize pre-rotation and the excessive blade assistance, but we all know it's mostly gonna affect the small fed skaters. Rules for thee, but not for me...

Excellent collection. 🤩✨✨✨✨ Ilia Malinin was definitely the revelation of this season. Now that he is the reigning junior world champion I can't wait to see him as a senior. Keegan Messing is one of the skaters that I like the most, and although he has a tendency to succumb to pressure, his technique is quite good. I can't say the same about Vincent Zhou, I like him too, however I've always been very aware of his poor jumping technique, and that even with Mie Hamada's advice he still doesn't finish polishing enough. And about Daniel Grassl, it is noted that although he and Matteo Rizzo have Lorenzo Magri, Daniel inherited a poor technique from his former coach (that includes his other jumps), and that it will not be easy to fix.
@bone9jdjkaye2 жыл бұрын
Matteo rizzo wasn't taught by Lorenzo until recently (last two years ish). Before was taught by his father and Franca Bianconi. Daniel Grassl has been with Lorenzo much longer (2016), when he was 14years old.

Ilia literally just get into that perfect backspin position so smooth. Like the only one I’ve seen... then you look at that Italian Grasel soemthing.... sk bad
Depending on the camera angle, the body inclination may appear to be opposite. But remember, skaters and coaches: THE CORRECT AXIS IN THE AIR IS either VERTICAL, or slightly leaning to the inside of the circle (i.e. TO THE RIGHT, in the case of counter clock wise rotators)

With some of these guys, you don't even need the slo-mo to see how sloppily they were performed.
If you use more than your toe pick to take off during the Lutz, the jump should be scored (or downgraded) to a loop instead … like Zhou’s Lutz.
