Open doors work in pinch too to do pull ups but gloves are adviseable.
@baz9653Ай бұрын
Definitely Mox !! I've used open doors for pull ups in the past many times...keeps the posture straight throughout the movement too 👌🏻

U can prep the back with an old Maxalding exercise whereas u interlock yr finger grip & place the hands somewhere placed near the crown. The idea to arch the upper back a little & pull the arms apart laterally while flexing the upper back. Doing it that way will make u primed to crank out more reps & add more definition.

Sit in a chair, cross ankles. Use the lead foot as an anchor & train the back. Do a few holds & then turn around to high step off the seat. Lower for 10s & snap up. Train only one leg this way on alternate days. You'll recover faster.

Interlace fingers behind back, hold arms str8, raise & thrust yr chest out. PULL hsnds outwards. After that, interlace fingers & rest them on back crown. Elbows out to the side. Push inwards. ROAR!

Try the classic BB pose with hands hip level flexing the chest but with the elbows angled back at about 45 degrees. This is a good stretch position & it toughens up my man kitties. No bounce here!
I sit on a chair, clench my fists on top of my knees, arms inline with thighs, hunch over & PRESS.

Nice. I do a very similar workout to this. Have you tried an overhead press isometric standing in a doorway. Push overhead as hard as you can for about 12 seconds . Repeat a few times .Really feel it after the lateral raises. Andrew

What keeps you motivated?
@baz96533 ай бұрын
I stay in shape and keep motivated for a few reasons... 1) To keep fit and strong for self defence reasons...to protect myself and my loved ones 2) for general health and fitness 3) so that im fit enough in my older years to play with my kids / grandkids 4) just simply to look good 5) it helps with my mental health
@92744487903 ай бұрын
I must say self resistance exercise is quite helpful in self defense situations...also when I practice wrestling weekly I feel like I can put more force through my dojo mates...i experimented with push ups but self resistance gives me more of strength to move on...

For me personally, yes ! Weight training makes me sluggish and slow...whereas calisthenics keep me fast, fit and strong.
@karamelflan4 ай бұрын
Very unsolicited suggestion here: I really recommend going towards the most bottom you can do for the pull-ups. It will be harder, but that would mean a higher range of motion and better stimulus. Also, do try finding a way to make sure that when doing any workouts, it should last more than 30 seconds so your muscles will be in under more stimulus. That would mean less sets to do, and paradoxically means less time of working out, considering you're doing circuit training. (Edited the "superset" to circuit training from a correction)
@karamelflan4 ай бұрын
Also holy shit that's really cool man, supersetting three workouts.

I have never trained at a gym ever in my whole 19 years of working out ! Ive always trained at home / garden / park using just bodyweight and self resistance. Workout duration varies depending on my routine at the time. Right now my routine is just push ups , pull ups and bodyweight squats done daily for 3 sets each which takes around 30 mins

U should do static contractions before doing any dynamic exercise. It's the secret sauce. The power & pump u get is incredible. Go to any staircase & plant the lead foot on the 2nd step. Interlace the fingers midway under the hamstring, back str8 & gradually pull up with intensity. Pull the shoulders back & down to contract the lats before pulling up. You'll feel it mainly in the buttocks & hamstrings but when u knock out prisoner squats immediately afterwards you'll feel the burn. Working the legs even just one has an anabolic effect. This OLD man swears by it young grasshoppa.......*ah-sooooooo*
