I got one a month ago and I noticed the advertisement has slightly different gauge "feet" with a flat instead of a point. the guages are kind of pointless IMHO as simply having a pointer and adjusting by eye, Moving the pointer in slightly as the rim gets straighter. Still I have a mini lathe so the gauges wont go astray

I think the indicators better setup are nice. I’d rather have the indicator on the dishing arms though so it told you how off center you were that way and don’t fall off so easy. If I didn’t already have a handful of those 2” stole mhc indicators I’d probably steal them for my lathe as well. I do like the brake rotor one, but my adapter that bolts the indicator to the brake caliper mount more convenient.

Ti5 is 6%Al 4%V so 7% Al is not totally unreasonable. The grade is just a number. EG Ti4 is pure titanium, Ti23 is 6Al 4V ELI (extra low interstitial - otherwise the same as Ti5). Thanks for the review, well done.

I didn’t realize that titanium based alloy names were different than ferrous alloys with what the numbers means. It was far enough out that our XRF claimed no match but maybe it was some other alloying element that threw it off.

Ordered an Aion36 PCS 3CR from Suntour on sale. Gave them my weight (225lbs with bike), trail terain type (roots and loose gravel over clay hardpack) and the travel I wanted the fork set too (140mm). They set the fork to 140mm and filled the air spring to 90psi. Factory manual recomends between 100-124psi. I dont think they did any damper adjustment because I'm on the heavy side of the weight scale (6'7", 197lbs). Wasnt the massive upgrade I thought it would be, going from my 2018 Aion35 (non-pcs) with redline shock oil and 5ml 10wt in the fork legs. I'll have to pull it appart and see what magic a revalve and good oil will do. Ive only got one ride on it, so maybe it'll break in.

Another question, if you have time :) I've been using both a 220mm and a 240mm. I've noticed that both of them have a noticable "knock" when the piston changes direction from compression to rebound, especially on fast hits (like roots, typically). After the recent services with oil replacement (see my other comment), the shocks overall became less noisy (less squishy sounds), but this knock appears to have gotten a wee bit worse. Have you noticed anything like this? If so, do you have any ideas about how to make this noise go away? :)

With regards to revalve -- what would happen if you just used a slightly thicker oil, such as Fox 5wt R3?
@leafydialupking12 ай бұрын
According to restackor it has a lot less of an effect than I would have expected, which is why I just use like water for everything. It’s only a few percent difference and mostly at low speed, so it’s really within the noise of predicting the tune with restackor.
@snokefilmmedia2 ай бұрын
@@leafydialupking1 I think you're right about that. I have one 220mm and a 240mm. I had the oil in the 220mm replaced with Fox 5wt R3 (should be equivalent to 15 cSt), and a slightly thicker oil in the 240mm (about equivalent to 25 cSt). The 220mm became slightly less noisy and a bit smoother on high frequency bumps, and the 240mm became significantly less noisy and definitly smoother on high frequency bumps. High speed compression does not appear to be affected (outside of high frequency small bumps), low speed compression did increase noticably on the 240mm, but much less than I expected.
@leafydialupking12 ай бұрын
@snokefilmmedia and it makes sense that it only effects low speed when you think about how the shim valved dampers work. They’re opening a certain amount based on the pressure created by the restriction of the low speed needle valve. The amount they open is dictated by how much flow it takes the make the spring force of the shims equal the force created by the pressure differential. So the higher weight oil really should only have an effect before the shim stack starts to open and the again once the shim stack can’t open further and you start to hit choke flow. This is ignoring any potential effects the viscosity could have on the port walls and on parts of the damper it has to flow through that aren’t part of the valving, like the port to the reservoir or the outer tube in a twin tube damper.

Hello from Brazil my friend Can you try to help me, please? My chainsaw(chinese) has a problem with excessive compression. But when I remove the spark plug the piston rotates normally. Even placing your finger in thze spark plug opening causes the piston to become extremely compressed again. Yesterday I installed a completely new cylinder and piston, but the problem remains. I changed the spark plug, removed the carburetor and exhaust fan, and still the problem remains. Do you have any idea what it could be? Can I send you a video showing the problem? I have been seeking help with this mystery on various social media channels, Instagram, KZbin, but no one has been able to guess what could be causing the problem.

That sounds like it working as intended. If you want it to be easier to pull the starter you could put a 58cc cylinder on it if it’s a 52cc, this will reduce the compression ratio. You could also stack an extra base gasket or two under the cylinder.
