Chinese chainsaw 372 carb and big intake

Modding/install instructions for a 372 carburetor and a bigger intake on a Chinese chainsaw. These saws are knows as 4500, 5200, 5800, 45cc, 52cc, 58cc, saws.

Yes the high, low, and idle screws are still accessible through the holes in the case. Of the power mods you can do to these saws, I experienced the most with this.

This helps me confirm that maybe most of the Chinese saws are based off the 372xp. Is that what your thinking too? I want to throw a 372xp cylinder and piston on my 58cc Chinese saw so I've bein doing alot of digging for measurements and specs. Although this saw as is is a freaking screamer I've bein impressed.

No no. They're based on the zenoah g4500. But there's only like 2 different carb bolt hole spacing for all chainsaws in the 38-90cc range made in the last 30 years. Which is why this works. The 372 carb is just the biggest one that can be had for cheap with this bolt hole spacing, and it has the throttle and choke levers pretty close to where they need to be for this saw.

@@leafydialupking1 cool deal what about the cylinder. Both my 62cc but actually a 58cc engine and the 372xp have the same stroke and piston pin size. I've found that the 52 58 62 and 65cc motors all have that in common not sure about the new 75cc saw yet. But I've done alot of comparison of mine and the 372xp non x torque and the blocks/chassis are identical.

www.baumr-ag.com.au/chainsaws/petrol-chainsaw-sx75 looks very zenoah based, they're basically only available in Australia. If I had to guess I'd guess these are based on the same platform as the real 62cc zenoah saws, the ones with the internal clutch.

thanks, found it at another comment. I am using this too at one of my machines, just did not recognize it. Did you made a video of your portings on the chinese cylinder? I want to start first porting steps at my cheap chinese 52cc, after tit is successfull (and hopefully not dead) I will proceed with my "good" working machine, a Greencut GS680X with 48mm cylinder = 62cc. It is going as hell just at stock and runs the 3/8" full chissel stihl chain very good, but more power is always a good thing. Therefore I ordered the bigger intakes from you too @@leafydialupking1

@@Stefanseiner I don’t think I made one with my numbers, but honestly I think all my porting ever did was raise the peak rpms, I don’t feel like it actually made it cut faster. At least on the 52cc pistons there’s enough meat above the top ring land where you can actually do a lot of your exhaust and transfer adjustments there rather than on the cylinder itself. If you have the tops of your ports curved and the piston interface curved you get a faster opening port than just flat and you won’t hang the ring in the exhaust port like I’ve done before.

are there any changes to do at the gas and impulse lines? A guy from UK who did same carb mod told there must be longer lines to reach the 372xp carb. And will the adjustement screws fit the original holes so you can adjust the carb from the outside of the case? Yesterday I started with modifying my cheap 52cc saw. Thinner gasket for more compression, muffler mod and paper airfilter with ported intake (the plastic intake of the paper filter has lower diameter then the original one), Results in the wood was 54sec stock and 44sec with this few modifications. I am very curious about your 3d intake to go ahead with modding. Maybe I will try to make one out of steel while waiting for the package @@leafydialupking1

@Stefanseiner it may require a longer impulse line or you may need to bend the impulse nipple on the carb a little. The adjustments do line up with the holes surprisingly.

No its one specific to these 5200 saws. You need to get the air filter and adapter as a kit and new high top plastics.

Yes. It replaces the rubber boot and the brass ring between the carb and cylinder.
